A very enjoyable... - A very enjoyable excursion, despite the weather. The company were very responsive and quick to answer messages. Our arrival time (on a cruise ship) was altered, but this time change was accommodated. We travelled to the site in two small buses, with our very capable guide looking after both groups. An enjoyable day - thank you

Best value in Costa Maya. - Great experience in Costs Maya area of Mexico. Rafael was our guide and was excellent. He helped to explain far more about the area than just the ruins. Even stopped at a roadside stand for fresh Honey Pineapple. I left feeling like I know a lot more about the areas, the people and the culture. One of my favorite excursions on our cruise.

Book it! - This was an amazing experience and would highly recommend! It was a small walk from the pier and we were greeted with a bottle of water. When we boarded the van it was only 9 of us in the excursion which made it more personal. Octavia our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He even stopped at a fruit stand and got us fresh pineapple and provided water, soda and beer. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic small group tour with Ismael! - Ismael lives in the village of Chocchoben near the ruins and his wife’s side of the family are locals of Mayan descent. This contributes to Ismael’s insightful, thoughtful, and interesting tour of the amazing ruins at Chocchoben. 10/10 for this small group tour!
We met just down the street from the Costa Maya port then rode in an air-conditioned van. There we our family of 7 (with five children ages 16-25), and four additional participants. Small enough to be intimate and interesting compared to the 40-50 in ship-sponsored excursions.
The drive is about an hour each way through the oddly desolate swamps of the Yucatán to the newly refurbished Chocchoben park. Ismael kept the drive very interesting answering our (OK, my) many questions about the environment, history, economy, agriculture, and people.
At the site, Ismael led an informative and appropriately paced tour through the site, due to our relatively brief time in port (7:00-1:00!) He really knew his history and facts, and his love for and appreciation of the legacy of the Mayan people was obvious. He was genuine and friendly.
He provided some sodas for us, through the weather was very mild due to it being December.
The drive back was equally interesting on a variety of topics, including his farm. It was hard to tell which topic he loved more.
If we came back to the Yucatán anywhere, I would call Ismael and take him up on his invitation to come share his wife’s tamales and tortillas!
The best part of excursions is not just what you see, experience, and learn, but the great people you meet. What can you say for someone who is great at all of those things?!

Incredibly enjoyable - This trip was incredibly enjoyable. We had the pleasure of meeting a professional guide named Ezequiel. He educated us with many photos and extensive information about Maya culture and history. Ezequiel also had a great sense of humor and shared amusing local stories with the tourists.

This tour was fantastic!... - This tour was fantastic! Our guide, Octavio, was wonderful! He was local to the area and shared a lot of interesting facts about Mayan culture and history. He made sure we were able to explore the various areas of the ruins. I highly recommend this tour. It was a smaller group and much more enjoyable than a huge group tour.

Excellent small group tour of Chacchoben - We had an outstanding small group tour of the ruins at Chacchoben, near Costa Maya Mexico. Our driver and guide, “Chino” was excellent. He took car of his “family” of guest (8 of us) and gave an excellent tour of the ruins. Driving time was about 1 hr from the port to Chacchoben. We had an approx 2 hr walking tour then an easy drive back to the port. All in all a great day trip. Highly recommend! Thanks “Chino”

Chacchoben Ruins + Honey Pineapples - Rafael was a great tour guide. He helped explain what each structure was in the ruins area in great detail. Overall, the pace of the tour moved quicker than I wanted, didn't have too much time to read the posters in front of the structures - just snap a photo and had to go. I wish we had more time!
Bonus: Rafael stopped by a fruit stand selling honey pineapples and it was very tasty! They also provided soft drinks, beer, and fried banana chips for snacking.
