Great snorkeling trip - This was a great snorkeling trip! The crew was extremely nice and helped us find different kinds of fish and a sea turtle while we were out snorkeling. They even provided us with pictures they took of us for no additional charge, which was incredibly nice. Highly recommend

A Great Snorkeling Experience Recorded in Photos - My husband and I took our two college-age granddaughters on the La Diosa del Mar Snorkeling Tour on June 26th. This was the girls' first time to snorkel. We all had so much fun seeing the fish, a ray, and a sea turtle. The boat was very clean, as were the life jackets and snorkeling equipment. Bottled water was provided at the end of our tour. The captain and guide were so very courteous to us and to our granddaughters. Our guide stayed in the water with us the entire time and took amazing photographs which were sent to my email later.

Great snorkeling experience - The snorkeling tour was just the right time out in the water due to the heavier currents. We saw many colorful fish and a sea turtle. This outfit did a wonderful job (Axel, Yulia, and I believe our underwater guide was Cesar). If you are taking a taxi, just tell them “Yaya Beach”. The location is about a 5 minute walk from The Krazy Lobster.

Great Snorkel Trip! - The tour was excellent! We had a great time, seen lots of different fish, coral reefs, and seen a Sea Turtle which was the highlight of our trip. The only thing I would mention is that it was a little odd upon arriving as we didn’t know where we were actually supposed to meet. When we told the lady who greeted us she just motioned us to a boat. It would be helpful to have the business name or something on the boat to ensure you are in the correct spot. Staff was so friendly though. Definitely would do again if we go back.

Fast fun snorkel tour with turtles and rays. - If you’re looking for a quick, easy and friendly snorkel tour this is it. The guys were very accommodating, took lots of pics (and sent them to us for free!) and everything was as expected, start to finish.

No turtles. Tour was over 30 mins late. Restaurant is a tourist trap - Very disappointed. Despite receiving messages to not cancel and to wait until the day before, once I saw the path of Hurricane Beryl was certain to cross over Costa Maya the week prior to our arrival, I decided to canceled our snorkeling excursion. After the hurricane had passed, the tour operator reached out to me, (after I had already canceled), and encouraged me to book again saying that "everything is excellent". I will say, to a visitor who didn't know what to expect, it didn't look like a hurricane had just been through the area. Everything from restaurants, to hotels and the beach were fully operational. Our disappointment started with the lack of communication on where to go and continued from there. We were arriving by cruise and so internet is limited. I received a couple messages the day before our arrival to Costa Maya, from the operator with names of people that were going to meet us. I didn't know where we were going once outside the port shops, or how I was going to identify these people. I asked for a description of a sign or a whatsapp number. We were not given one. Had we just booked our own taxi, it would have been better. We had to go outside the port and the parking lot, past the taxi stand, and across the public street. We were told in a message to look outside a guard booth but we never saw where that was. We finally found a person standing on the side of the road with a dry erase board with our name. The Whatsapp number I had asked the day prior for, wasn't sent to me until we were already in a taxi. We arrived to the "Beach Club" where we were told to wait at the table and that the boat would pull up to a spot at 10:30. First, the Beach Club was a restaurant, El Kraken, and before we had even sat down in our seats, we were surrounded with multiple vendors trying to sell us items. This continued non-stop every few minutes the entire time we were there, (over an hour). I noticed the vendors would walk through the beach site next to us and not stop to try and sell to anyone there. So I imagine there were rules that prevented them from trying to sell in that area. The reviews for this restaurant were not great and since there actually was no advantage, meals or drinks that came with this excursion, we decided to wait for after our snorkeling trip to go somewhere else to eat/drink. At 10:30, (the time we were scheduled to leave) I sent a message again to the operator as boats came and went because we had no idea what we were looking for. I finally got a description of the boat (10:37) and that it would be there in 15 mins. I wish that this had all been communicated up front or we may have just walked away from our table to a boat we knew nothing about since other boats were pulling up to the beach in front of us. The boat we were waiting for didn't show up until after 11:00 and it showed up two beach clubs down from where we were told to expect it. Also, because you are meeting at a restaurant, there is no place to store your stuff so anything you bring off the ship if you are cruising, you bring with you on the boat. We didn't have a lot but we did bring a dry change of clothes, wallets, phones, money, bags, etc. that are all left on the boat and likely to get wet. Not the tour operators fault, just something to be aware of. The snorkeling equipment was fine and we did receive the go-pro photos shortly after our trip which was nice to have and the only reason I am giving 2 stars. We've done other snorkeling tours were we were told what to expect, told about the area, etc. Those guides pointed out marine life to us, treated the guests with a family like hospitality and made it fun. Here, we were asked who was a strong swimmer, no direction on what to expect, and then we swam around for about half an hour. The only thing we saw in that time were two huge schools of fish. Even the reefs themself were small with mostly us swimming over wide patches of nothing but sand and vegetation. Nothing like the pictures on this site. The description of the tour itself and the title are misleading since the only reason I booked was to see turtles. We didn't see a single turtle or ray. You would think that they might have even offered an apology or acted disappointed that we didn't see anything else. There was nothing said. They just brought us back to the beach and dropped us off asking to make sure we leave our contact info for the photos. We did so and then found our own taxi to go to a much better restaurant which turned out to be the only highlight of the day.

Nothing like what was advertised - This excursion was nothing like described. It took us over an hour to get to the site. The address was unknown to the port and public taxi drivers. They got us "in the area" then we had to ask locals. We were taken out in the open waters, told to jump off the boat and snorkel in waters with 3 foot waves. Then told we were to swim out 500 more meters in these open waves. The reefs were ok, some fish, not much color at all. We requested to get back in the boat. Very difficult in open waters, bouncing around with a broken ladder hooked to the side of the boat. No turtles of course. Very disappointing, should get a refund.
