As a seasoned surfer and traveler, I’ve always been drawn to the ocean’s rhythm and the stories it whispers. But this time, I decided to swap my surfboard for a pair of hiking boots and venture into the heart of the jungle at the Chacchoben Ceremonial Center. The allure of ancient Mayan history intertwined with the lush embrace of nature was too tempting to resist.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by Jhoana, our guide for the day. Her energy was infectious, and her knowledge of the Mayan civilization was as deep as the ocean I love so much.
