Additional Information

Nagarkot, nestled 25 miles to the east of Kathmandu, Nepal, is situated on the northeastern edge of the Kathmandu Valley, elevated at 6,800 feet above the sea level. It is celebrated for the panoramic sunrise views it offers of the Himalayas. From a special observation tower, one can witness the illustrious Mount Everest adorned with snow-capped peaks.

The ancient Hindu shrine of Changu Narayan, found atop a lofty hill known also as Changu, is devoted to the deity Vishnu and holds a special place of reverence amongst Hindu believers. This temple is regarded as the most ancient in Nepal’s history.

Bhaktapur, the embodied echo of how the entirety of the Kathmandu Valley would have appeared during the medieval era, with its majestic architecture; towering temples constructed in the pagoda style that seemingly ascend to the heavens, exquisite clay pottery, enormous royal courtyards with histories dating back to the 12th century; where even today, celebrations of age-old festivals are held with unmitigated enthusiasm and fervor.

Beautiful Nepal - Our guide, Rajat Khatiwada, was wonderful and very nice. He explained so many aspects of the history, daily life and religious aspects of how everything comes together. So interesting and amazing!

Amazing little private tour - I loved just touring the different squares and temples. It felt very catered to us. Our guide was very informative. He even took us to see healing bowls and to a grocery store to find some authentic goods.

Decent tour - The weather was great for the sunrise view, although the hazy air pollution meant the view was not very clear, thus not really able to see Everest. The guide was knowledgeable and a decent driver. The sites were nice to see. The tour was about 4.5 hrs, 5am-9:30am, so not necessary for a lunch stop as noted.
