Mai Chau is a rural located in the Northwest region of Vietnam and far from Hanoi 150km. Here are a peaceful valley sheltered by the outside world by a dramatic ring of hills. Its isolation has allowed a traditional way of life to thrive in a way that you wouldn’t expect so close to the capital city.
Mai Chau Valley is the adjoining villages of Ban Lac and Pom Coong. Here it’s all about bamboo stilt houses and paddy fields, with a feel that’s more like rural Laos or Thailand than Vietnam.

Go to Mai Chau - What an amazing and beautiful group of villages. The weaving is authentic and colourful as well as expertly done.
I recommend taking a motor bike around the villages to see the most.
The guesthouse stays are a good option here, so you can visit less accessible hill villages.

Nice trip and comfortable bus - We have a good trip in Mai Chau Valley , tour guide and bus transfer comfortable. just for one day not do at all but it really good for who sort time in Vietnam. thanks a gain

Cycling in the middle of paddy field - I selected this out of last minute plan to have on our last day. Trip is a bit long but the serenity of the area is worth it. The meals included in the package is of set menu that are just enough in terms of portion and the varieties are decent/ good. 30 minutes rest after lunch then cycling through enjoying the town is a pleasure.

Great day trip! - After the bustle of Hanoi this serene valley felt like heaven, I regret not staying there for a couple of days. In December the scenery is not as green as on most pictures you'll find, but still pretty nice.
