But the experience was not just about fishing. I also took part in a Thai cookery lesson, where I learned to prepare some of the most delicious dishes I had ever tasted. The class was both informative and fun, and I left with a newfound appreciation for the art of Thai cuisine. My fiancé, who is a fellow scientist and a lover of all things culinary, would surely be impressed by my newfound skills.

As we dined, we shared stories of our day’s adventures, accompanied by a few gin and tonics, and the camaraderie among us was palpable.
