Highlights
  • Siam Adventure World - Private Tours - Rise early to catch the 5am pickup service from your hotel lobby in Phuket. Travel by minivan to Phuket Yacht Haven Marina, where you’ll be greeted by the delightful boat crew of Siam Adventure World. After meeting your friendly guide, receive safety instructions and select your snorkeling gear. Enjoy a speed boat ride to the stunning Similan Islands in under 90 minutes, with only 30 seats available to ensure a spacious experience.

The first stop is Donald Duck Bay, ideal for both novice and seasoned snorkelers. Koh Similan No. 8 is known for its massive boulders scattered along the western and southern shores. Hike through the jungle to explore various viewpoints on the island.

Next, head to the waters of Christmas Point at Koh Bangu, Island No. 9. This northernmost island boasts one of the best snorkeling spots, featuring a reef arch called ‘Breakfast Bend’ on its eastern side, adorned with sea fans, staghorn corals, and coral outcrops.

Savor a picnic lunch on Koh Miang, Island No. 4, which offers expansive white sandy beaches and lush forests. As the center of the Similan Islands, it houses the park ranger facilities. Spend time on the beach with clear waters, exploring the vibrant underwater world with healthy coral and abundant fish. There is also a fantastic nature trail leading up the highest mountain of the Mu Ko National Park.

Depending on the tides, the final snorkeling stop will be at Island No. 5, known for the ‘Garden of Eels,’ or at Island No. 7, Koh Hin Pousar, famous for its Elephant head-shaped rock. Then, return to the pier in Phuket, where the driver will safely transport you back to your hotel.

Please note that the Similan Islands National Park is officially open to the public from October 15th to May 15th.

Very early departure but the wake up call is worth the trip - I don't know where to start, but I highly recommend this excursion and especially the Siam adventure. Departure from Phuket at around 4pm, really early but already in the water at 8am. We, with a 9 and 5 year old child who can swim well, really enjoyed everything. In all the places we stayed with them we always arrived 1 hour early and it was just us (we have done other excursions in Thailand and it has never been like this). Turtles, colorful fish, snorkeling and nature, fantastic excursion and also safe for those who can swim less (3 of them for each boat are to check your safety in the water). Done on the penultimate day of the 21st, perhaps the best day of our trip. To be recommended and repeated, we booked through Friends of Phuket (they have an agency on Karon Beach). The most expensive excursion we did (about 1/4 of our 21 day budget for food and excursions), but happy we did it.

Beautiful location - Very enjoyable day trip. Waves were a bit choppy on the day and the currents were strong, so swimming/snorkeling didn't suit me. Views and scenery were stunning and the crew were very welcoming.

Siam Adventure World Similan Islands - The areas people can visit in the Similan Islands have been (quite rightly) limited to protect the area. As a result you get LOTS of people on the beaches and in the snorkelling areas. We saw quite a lot of fish, but to be honest, the areas we were allowed are quite damaged. We enjoyed the sunrise tour to Phi Phi Islands with Simba Sea trips a lot more.
