Mount Longonot National Park - Mt Longonot is a volcanic mountain located 73km from Nairobi. It has an altitude of 2856m and has been dormant for over 200 years.
This trip begins at 6.00 am where your driver will pick you up from your hotel. After driving for an hour you will take a break at the Great rift valley view point for pictures. Here you’ll be able to view Mt Longonot and other features on the floor of the Rift Valley.
The drive then continues for 30 more minutes before you arrive at the mountain. You will then start the hike up the mountain with your guide. The hike is 3.1km from the entrance to the rim where you have a view of the crater. Depending on how you feel once you reach the rim you will decide if you’re able to go around the rim. Enjoy views of Lake Naivasha, Hells gate and Mount Suswa on the hike around the rim. The distance around the rim is 7.2km. This hike takes 4 to 6 hours.
It is advisable to wear hiking boots and clothes. Snacks and drinking water also make the experience much better. -
Lake Naivasha - After the hike your driver will take you to Lake Naivasha. Here you will have lunch and then the boat ride will follow. This is a one hour boat ride where you will see hippopotamus, waterbucks, giraffes, impala and other animals. You will also see birds such as cormorants, fish eagles, kingfishers, pelicans and many more. You will also enjoy views of the crescent island.
A walk on the crescent island can be organised at a fee.
After the boat ride the 2 hour drive back to Nairobi follows.

A day at Mt. Longonot with boat ride on Lake Naivasha - Climbing the summit of Mount Logonot was simply fantastic. For those who like to venture into the unknown, on a narrow and often slippery path, filled with sand and volcanic rocks, with a breathtaking landscape, this is what you will get when you get to the summit.
Peter my guide was great! Knowing, he adapted to my rhythm, he explained everything we saw, he took the time to stop when I wanted to stop.
I recommend that adventure to all!!
And the tour with a boat on Lake Naivasha, what a natural wonder! The lake filled with hippos, surrounded by all kinds of birds including fish eagles and cormorants. Without forgetting the Crescent Island, full of animals clearly visible from the boat. The captain took the time to stop at interesting places where I could take photos. He was also able to answer all my questions. Thank you Peter for finding me this captain who surprised me with his knowledge of nature. I recommend this ride to everyone!!

Spectacular views, great experience - Really enjoyed the hike. This was one of my favorite activities in Kenya. The views were spectacular and Peter was a wonderful guide. I’m a slow hiker and he was very patient. Everything went smoothly. Highly recommend!

Awesome Tour! - My trip was excellent... My driver and guide Peter was very friendly and knowledgeable. When we left Nairobi the weather was a bit gloomy but he pointed out that it would be warmer as we're going to a different region. He was right! At the rift valley view point we already had clear views of the mountain. The hike itself has the most amazing views of the volcano. We often saw animals but my guide made sure I felt safe as its only herbivores. Lunch next to lake naivasha was quite good as I had fish from the lake. The boat ride in lake naivasha was also quite phenomenal with hippos and birds.

Tour to Mt Longonot with Peter - Great tour to Mt Longonot, really peaceful view from the top, and nice walk. Peter the Guide and driver was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We even saw fresh leopard paw print!
