Additional Information

Positioned within 500 acres of gorgeous parkland in Kent, Leeds Castle is an impressive 11th century Norman fortification. Having served England’s kings and queens during the middle ages, and later transformed into a stylish 20th century sanctuary by Lady Baillie, an Anglo-American heiress, Leeds Castle’s extraordinary heritage has made it one of Britain’s most popular historical sites. There is plenty to experience, from wandering through the Princess Alexandra Gardens and indulging in afternoon teas, to witnessing spectacular falconry shows and engaging the family in a round of adventure golf.

Perfect day out - Beautifully maintained. Perfect signage. Lovely, helpful volunteers. A bit frustrated that there was a huge school group in front of us until one of the kids played the piano so beautifully in the castle:) Will definitely go back!

Good value - I was initially grumpy about the cost of admission but the overall experience was so positive I changed my views. Everything has been completed to a high standard and it’s a great day out and therefore value for money I

Beautiful castle and grounds - Great day out. I have been here a few times and I love it when you purchase a ticket you can come back as much as you like! Scenic grounds that are a pleasure to walk around or sit with a picnic, a beautiful castle that looks great from whatever side you stand and interesting things to do throughout. There is a hedge maze which was fun to do, and right next to this is the aviary and the mini golf. Both are worth a visit, though on really hot days the falcon show is not open to protect the birds. Mini golf is fun and reasonably priced. There is a play area for the kids here too and a small cafe. Lots of different places to sit and just enjoy the atmosphere. The castle view cafe was fab, though slightly pricey. I would recommend the afternoon tea or the gammon egg and chips as both are really nice. Staff throughout were really friendly. Top this off with the castle tour to learn some history and before you know it, the day has been well spent.

Lovely Lakeside Lodge - We had a wonderful overnight stay in a Lakeside Lodge , they have thought of everything, including an outside bath. Well equipped lodge , beautiful view of the lake with binoculars provided. Be aware the little ferry passes by regularly during Castle opening hours, so keep your clothes on 😂

Great day out at Leed’s Castle - The beauty of the grounds are the first thing you notice, but the interior of the Castle itself is beautiful, and well worth a look. The history is mind boggling and the interiors are well restored and maintained. Everything about Leeds Castle is well presented, immaculate, tidy and clean. Great helpful staff, just a lovely day out for families. Highly recommend, can’t wait to return.

Good and bad - The grounds and play areas were outstanding as usual our complaint was about the food - or lack of it!! We went to the courtyard to get a lunchtime snack and there was only a bean salad available, nothing for the 3 year old were had with us!! We then went to the eaterie by the play area and there was only 1 member of staff on duty as the other had gone to lunch - 1.10pm !!!! The queues were horrendous. We'll take our own picnic in future as obviously their food was not to be relied on!!!

Well Worth Visiting - We live very close to Hever Castle and visit frequently. This however was our first visit to Leeds Castle which is about an hour's drive. Well signposted and very easy to locate with huge car parks. We arrived at 10.30 and the temperature was 28c. The booking in process was simple with excellent staff so there was no queue. Be aware, its a long walk to the castle! Being old, I take shortish steps and according to my smart watch, it was almost a mile. There is a mini bus shuttle service in operation. The grounds are stunning. Plenty of room for children and adults for that matter to let off steam. The lakes and rivers are impressive and has an amazing amount of various water foul. The gardens are more than acceptable with the most amazing Hollyhocks I have ever seen. We did walk to the children's activity area which was excellent. As mentioned by other reviewers, the castle itself is disappointing. Well worth visiting but not historically inspiring. Unlike Hever Castle, where you are transformed back in time and immersed in history. I fail to understand why the French authorities feel a visit to Leeds Castle is educationally beneficial for students! We had as baguette and drinks in the cafe where the service was impeccable. A visit to Leeds Castle really is value for money as we can return anytime this year without further payment. This is in stark contrast to Hever! All in all, a lovely day and I can thoroughly recommend a visit as long as you are not seeking a historical experience.

Welcome England. - The location, the surrounding landscape, and the manor are very charming. I skipped a lot of photos. I was disappointed by the general decor dating to the 50/60s and by the terrible rubber fooring in the ballroom and dining room. 31£ for a visit to the manor is an exaggeration. What can i say.... the downsides make me think that I would not return. Lorenzo. M. Z.

Beautiful Castle and Grounds but Expensive - I got to say the grounds and castle are amazing. Nicely kept and very large, about 2.5 km walk around. Very expensive ticket prices, then you also need to pay for additional bits inside the site, ie boat and train, these should be included in a £35 per person ticket. food and gifts are also very expensive. The only plus point in regards to the tickets is that you can go as many times as you wish within the year. Each ticket is solely for that person as a picture is taken of your face.
