- Jonker Street - Jonker Street is known worldwide among serious antique collectors as one of the best places to hunt and bargain for antiques.
- Cheng Hoon Teng Temple - Malaysia’s oldest still-operating Chinese temple, constructed in 1673, remains a central place of worship for the Buddhist and Taoist communities here. Traditional methods were used throughout, from the ornate roof ceramics to the painted tigers by the door. Though the temple is dedicated to Kuan Yin, the goddess of mercy, it is also a multifaith temple, with Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian elements and effigies.

Historical malacca tour - This is a really great tour, our guide Ben sur was very informative and entertaining, the lunch provided was good quality and there was plenty to go around

Centuries of trade history with consecutive Portuguese, Dutch, and English colonization - On this trip in Malaysia, stopped in the ancient port city of Malacca. 80 languages were spoken here in the fifteenth century as European, Arab, Indian and other traders made this a stopping point till monsoon winds carried their ships onward to China. This is a cool placw for Asian arts and antiques, Understand that China may be embarking on a huge project to rebuild and modernize this port.

Enjoyable tour withn knowledgeable guide - Viator arranged a pick up from my hotel outside KL city centre for which I am very appreciative. Nice tour and nice lunch arranged as part of tour. This is a UNESCO heritage site and very interestiing place tto visit with a lot of history.

Interesting tour but far too rushed - We booked the all day tour to Malacca, with pick-up from our hotel. We then proceeded to a central collection point where all of the coaches or mini buses were allocated. Trip to Malacca was about two hours and uneventful. However, upon arrival in Malacca there was not enough free time - we were rushed from one area to another and therefore we regretted not having booked a hotel here in Malacca. Very crowded in places and the lunch, which we had expected to be a Nonya meal was a very bland Chinese meal with hardly any spices or garlic - obviously catering for Western tastes.
Journey back took nearly four hours due to traffic so again wasn't great.
Plenty of things to see in Malacca to justify a two day stay - very interesting museums and nice atmosphere along Jonker Street. Our guide was fine, although sometimes his English was a little difficult to understand, but he certainly knew about the history.

A bit disappointed - When I first got into the bus I was expecting a full bus but they were only like 10 people for the tour so it made me wonder. After visiting malacca, I learned that this place has plenty of history but nothing really to show for it. They are only a sights but small remnants and scattered. I was hoping for a full blown colonial city but it wasn’t. Our guide was Mica he was great, knowledgeable, and accommodating too. The lunch was pretty good also. It’s hard for me to recommend this place but it didn’t really wow me so I won’t.

Malacca Day Trip - We took a private Taxi from KL to Malacca for a full day trip, I would not say it was fantastic as the place is over rated. Other than historical sights, couple of things I would recommend is having fresh water melon juice at red square and coconut shake with ice-cream. Both very delicious.

It wasn’t quite what we expected - We were excited to visit Malacca and get some of the history, but honestly you should take two days to see the city. Our poor guide had to deal with some difficult and rather demanding people on our tour. They lagged behind and ultimately prevented us from getting a few extra minutes of shopping in. The history was interesting but everyone was so scattered it was difficult to hear it all. We felt rushed. It was a lot of look at that place, but we don’t get to go inside. We went into just one temple for maybe 10 minutes and then left for KL. It wasn’t a horrible tour but we certainly wish we would have stayed overnight.
