Great Malacca Tour - I took a solo trip Ayyanar as a guide, and a second guide who was in training. Was well taken care of. We did the river cruise (highly recommended), I took a brief trishaw ride with a local guy who told me some more history of the city, did a walking tour of the couple blocks that make up the core of the historic area, and we at at a local restaurant (only tourist in the place) for the famous local dish: chicken with rice balls. The only caution to be aware of: it is a 1 hour, 45 minute trip each way to Malacca from KL, so although the tour is set at 8 hours you really only have about 4 hours in Malacca itself. I thought this was plenty of time anyway.

Must to do - Malacca historical private tour with chauffeur Julie from Kalang Port is a couple of hours drive each way. The attraction and sites to see are very educational. Museums are air conditioned for comfort overlooking the city centre rooftops giving you an idea of past history of other buildings in the area. Walking through Chinatown to have lunch at an authentic Malay restaurant with a Chinese influence. A Must for visitors to do, just down a side street. Try the wares, and shop to your heats content. Julie was full of information relating to the history of her people.
