Fernandes II - We traveled on the Fernandes II, the Captain also acted as our Guide (in Italian!) and delighted us with a pleasant music playlist. The food was plentiful and well made. The friendly and always available crew. Excellent

Superb Fernando's day out - Excellent day out. The crew was great and friendly and helped us whenever needed. Really, I can not recommend it enough. Swimming with the fishes was a first for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Only advise you need sunscreen!! Thanks to all on the Fernandes we had a great day.

Enjoyable cruise - I really enjoyed my time on this boat and the trip to Comino and Gozo. Before we left the harbour, the Captain explained where we were going and some safety information regarding the boat and the sea conditions we would likely to expect on the day. He did this in English and Italian. If you are looking for comfortable seating this is may not be for you as it's clear from the age of this beautiful boat, its original use was not ferrying people around the islands. We had to find space on the deck sitting on mats but we did not mind this at all. We were offered a snack just before departure and lunch was provided which I thought was very good. The bar served beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks. There is not a lot of shady areas on the boat but I wanted to enjoy the sun. To be honest though there were not many people in these areas as they were sunbathing on the boat. As we cruised up the east coast of Malta towards Comino, the Captain was explaining some of the history of the places we could see from the boat. We stopped at the blue lagoon and it was beautiful. The lagoon was busy with other boats but this did not distract from how nice it was there. We then went on towards Gozo again with the Captain explaining some of the history of the island and what we could do when we got there. We anchored at Gozo for about an hour. Some of the passengers went for a swim and then we made the return trip back to Malta. I thought the crew made us feel welcome during the trip and at the end of the trip the Captain even had time to answer a question my son had about the top speed of the boat. I'd like to thank the Captain for his professional handling of the boat and his crew for this great experience onboard the Fernandes. I would do it again if I visit Malta again.

A misleadingly described average boat trip - Minibus transfer was good, picked up very near our hotel. Once we arrived at the boat we found that this is actually a tour with 80+ guests, despite the TripAdvisor description stating "This tour/activity will have a maximum of 15 travellers". This is deceptive and really should be removed from the Additional Information section. We went anyway, the boat was crowded and there was just enough space to sit as long as plenty of people sat on deck on mats. There is only enough shade for less than half the passengers, and you'll be on for 8 hours, so prepare to get cooked if it's a hot day. Lunch was basic but fine for a boat, chicken or fish with some pasta and salad options. All soft drinks and beer were included in the price, which was a nice surprise, there were spirits and cocktails for sale on top. Did have a decent toilet too. We went to 3 sites, first to paradise bay on Malta, then a name I forget on Gozo, before finally reaching the Blue Lagoon in the afternoon. The first two stops were much less busy, and quite nice for swimming, but just bear that in mind, this is not necessarily a "full day at the Blue Lagoon" experience (which would probably be too busy anyway). The boat had steps to get in and out of the sea, and snorkelling gear for hire for a couple of euros for the whole day. You might want to bring floats for kids or weaker swimmers though, at some stops the water was a few meters deep and you would have to tread water waiting to get back up the boat steps. The optional speedboat trip at the Blue Lagoon was great, shows you a bit more of Comino and very exuberantly driven. The lagoon itself is so massively busy that you were better off just swimming by the boat rather than trying to walk to the "beach" area. Overall it was a decent trip, you get a nice cruise up the coast and some decent spots to swim. But it is crowded and unshaded, and slightly deceptively described here. If I did it again, I'd pay more for a proper small group trip, or just get one of the big red ferries where you're guaranteed a seat and some shade.

Health and safety risk - Arrogant captain, couldn’t give a hoot when my husband banged his head leading to significant bleeding. Apparently it was our fault for not listening to safety instructions. I suggested the beam on the way out of the toilets needs padding. He says he is fulfilling safety requirements with a sign yet admitted it had happened many times before. No ownership.

Good if you like; stress, bad costumer service and awful food at a overcrowded boat. - The costumer service at the pick up was very angry and rude. We were told to go with a wrong group, but luckily the driver called before departure. The boat was completely overcrowded, I was standing up for 5 hours, but on top the food was awful and the crew very selfish. And it was NOT all inclusive, we paid for excursion at the blue lagoon and for coffees.

Disenchanted cruise - The masts which have never seen a sail could accommodate canvases to shelter the fifty passengers. Every 10 minutes you take advantage of the smoker who steps in front of you to puff on his cigarette instead of taking 10 more steps behind. The meal offered is the 1st price where the volume counts more than the lower quality. The speakers continuously broadcast a mind-numbing playlist cutting you off from the noise of the sea. You finally enjoy a little peace and quiet by jumping into the water of Paradise Bay. On the other hand, Blue Lagoon is overcrowded, the beach is black when crowded and you find yourself in the water between 2 pleasure boats. The beer is unlimited and some are there to refill their glass every 5 minutes. Fortunately, fresh fruit is offered to you on the way back. I love sailing, this is the first time I can't wait for it to end.

I strongly don’t recommend - The boat is trash. A wood crap without places where you can seat. The food is trash, one bad looking sandwich and some coloured water named cola. The coffee is 2.75 euro (really ??????). In conclusion the trip is a nightmare
