- Qal’at al-Bahrain - Bahrain Fort: Believed to have been the center of power for the ancient Dilmun civilization, Qal’at Al Bahrain (Bahrain Fort) holds UNESCO World Heritage status. The fort is strategically located for military purposes, allowing for the monitoring of navigation movements. Excavations have uncovered ancient soldiers’ barracks, horse stables, an ammunition depot, a secret passageway, ceramic utensils, and Islamic and Chinese currency coins.
Bahrain Fort Museum: Open to the public since 2008, the museum’s display area features 5 exhibition halls organized around a massive wall. With 500 artifacts on display, the museum highlights the site’s long settlement history against the unique backdrop of the wall, which recreates the different archaeological layers uncovered at the site.
- Dilmun Burial Mounds - Burial Mounds: These archaeological mounds are of significant historical importance, dating back to the Dilmun civilization in the third millennium BC. Other mounds, dating back to the Hellenistic period of Alexander the Great (2500 BC), are also found in various areas of Bahrain. The most impressive mounds are believed to be the Dilmunite Royal Tombs, located in A’ali near modern dwellings.
- Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre - Al Jasrah Handicraft Center: Situated near Al Jasra House, this center is worth visiting as it offers a variety of homemade handicrafts. It supports craftsmen and artisans, encouraging them to continue working in this unique field that requires significant effort and precise skills, by providing support to ensure the development of this industry while maintaining the original characteristics of Bahraini products.
- Royal Camel Farm - Royal Camel Farm: This farm was owned by His Highness the Late Sheikh Mohammed Bin Salman Al Khalifa, the uncle of the King of Bahrain. The farm is home to over 500 camels. Be sure to have your camera ready to capture moments with the camels, as they are very friendly.
