Meeting of Waters - Overview
The journey begins at the Meeting of the Waters, where the Rio Negro and Solimões converge to form the Amazon River. The next stop is January Lake, where visitors can observe floating houses in an area flooded during the river’s high-water season.
Following this, there is a visit to a local craft market, and a canoe ride into Lake Igapós to spot wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, anacondas, various birds, and water lilies. The adventure continues with piranha fishing and other species, before returning to the boat to enjoy the sunset and prepare for the night tour.
During the night tour, participants will assist in capturing alligators by shining flashlights into their eyes. After capture, the guide will provide explanations before the alligator is released back into its natural habitat.
