Start of the Journey

Meeting of Waters - The day begins at 7:30 am with a pickup from your hotel in Manaus. The journey takes you to Ceasa Port, where you will board a speedboat on the Rio Negro. The first stop is the floating village of Catalão, where you will visit a fish farm to see the Giant Arapaima Gigas, the largest scaled fish in the world. You will have the opportunity to feed them and experience their strength!

Following the fish farm visit, the speedboat continues to the meeting of the waters, where the Rio Negro and the Solimões River converge but do not mix. The journey proceeds along the river to Careiro village, followed by an hour-long road trip to Maçarico Lake. The final stretch is by speedboat, arriving at the lodge around 11:30 am. A delightful local lunch will be served at noon.

Juma Floating Lodge (Pousada Do Nilson) - At 3:00 pm, embark on a canoe trip to witness the renowned Amazon Pink River Dolphin and a variety of colorful birds. There will also be an opportunity for piranha fishing. The excursion lasts until about 6:30 pm, culminating in a stunning sunset view, before returning to the lodge for dinner at 7 pm. At 8:30 pm, venture back onto the waters in search of the formidable Cayman. Your jungle guide will capture a Cayman for an up-close learning experience, after which it will be safely released back into its habitat.

Juma Floating Lodge (Pousada Do Nilson) - The second day begins early at 5 am, departing the lodge at 5:30 am on a motorized boat to a tranquil location to witness the jungle awakening at sunrise. Afterward, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast in preparation for a morning trek. During the walk, your jungle guide will impart valuable insights about the Amazon, including its medicinal plants and diverse insects. You’ll also have the chance to observe native wildlife, such as playful monkeys! After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch.

Juma Floating Lodge (Pousada Do Nilson) - Afternoon activities commence at 3 pm with a canoe trip to the Várzea forest, an area with numerous small channels and waterways. Gain a unique perspective of the Amazon and learn about the flora and fauna. During the dry season, this trip is conducted on foot from August to March due to the absence of water. This area is ideal for spotting animals like monkeys, sloths, and various birds. Afterward, return to the lodge for dinner.

Jungle Tour

Juma Floating Lodge (Pousada Do Nilson) - After lunch at 3 pm, depart the lodge to camp overnight in the Amazon! Your guide will assist in setting up camp and preparing dinner in a remote jungle area. Hammocks and mosquito nets will be provided. After dinner, there will be an opportunity for spearfishing before returning to camp for the night.

Juma Floating Lodge (Pousada Do Nilson) - Following breakfast, embark on a hike to another part of the forest. Then, pack up camp and return to the lodge by 11 am. Enjoy one last delicious lunch at noon. Departure from the lodge is at 1:00 pm, with an expected return to Manaus around 4:00 pm.
