Moshi to Mandara Hut for overnight

Mandara Huts - After breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your guide, drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (about 1 hour), register and commence the climb.

Walk through the rainforest to the Mandara encampment. A side trip to Maundi Crater is a good way to see the surroundings including Northern Tanzania and Kenya. In the rainforest, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, and Colobus monkeys.

Hike towards Horombo then down to park gate and return to Moshi/arusha

Horombo Huts - You leave the glades of the rainforest and follow an ascending path on the open moorlands towards the Horombo encampment. Views of Mawenzi and the summit of Kibo are amazing. Look for giant lobelias and grounsels. After lunch at Mandara, hike back to the park gate and drive back to Moshi (about 1 hour)

Enjoy a brief but enchanting 2-day expedition on Kilimanjaro via the Marangu Route. This journey won’t take you to the highest peak, but it’s the sole Kilimanjaro trip to be completed in just 2 days. On the first day, we’ll drive from Moshi to Marangu - after registration, the trek up to Mandara Hut commences, where you’ll rest for the night. On the second day, you’ll continue your hike along the edge of a crater before descending back to the park entrance.
