• Hug Point State Park - Imagine traveling by stagecoach along the shoreline before the highway was built. The beach was the only route along this coastal stretch. At low tide, visitors can walk along the original stagecoach road, where wheel ruts remain etched in the rock. Pioneers had to carefully navigate around the headland, even at low tide, giving the point and park their fitting name, Hug Point.
• Neahkahnie Mountain - This majestic peak is a place of inspiration, where the Tillamook tribe believed their most powerful deity resided. The name Neahkahnie derives from their words Ne (“place of”) and Ekahnie (“supreme deity”).
• Camp 18 Museum - For those interested in the history of logging in the Northwest or curious about vintage logging machinery, Camp 18 offers a wealth of information. Outdoor displays include various steam donkeys, from early models to advanced Willamette compound geared yarders. Other exhibits feature a large bandsaw, a self-propelled Ohio steam crane, tracked vehicles, a railroad skeleton log car, and a variety of heavy equipment and hardware. A brief stop here on the way to the Oregon Coast allows visitors to explore the historic equipment, use the restroom, and grab a coffee.
