- Ecola State Park - A visit to Cannon Beach is incomplete without exploring Ecola State Park, dramatically situated on the edge of Tillamook Head. The road to the park winds through ancient rainforest, revealing one of the Oregon Coast’s most iconic views, with rock formations and capes visible for miles.
- Cannon Beach - This charming seaside village is perfect for a leisurely stroll, with winding pathways, vibrant public art, and flower-filled courtyards. Renowned as a top art destination in the Northwest, Cannon Beach boasts numerous art galleries, specialty shops, cafes, and fine dining. Visitors can enjoy a delightful meal at one of its excellent restaurants and explore its famous beaches.
- Haystack Rock - As one of Oregon’s most iconic landmarks, Haystack Rock is home to vibrant tidepools and diverse birdlife. Rising 235 feet from the shoreline, it offers a unique opportunity to explore colorful sea stars and other tidepool creatures at low tide. From early spring to mid-summer, it provides the best viewing of Tufted Puffins in the Northwest.
- Manzanita Beach - This picturesque oceanside city features seven miles of sandy beach and is the third most photographed location in Oregon. Visitors can enjoy a scenic walk by the ocean or explore the charming downtown area.
- Tillamook Rock Lighthouse - Known as “Terrible Tilly,” this historic lighthouse sits atop a basalt sea stack over a mile from Oregon’s North Coast. Although closed to the public, it remains a resilient symbol of its rich history. Visitors to Ecola State Park can enjoy breathtaking views of this iconic landmark.
- Oswald West State Park - Encompassing four miles of coastline within a lush rainforest, Oswald West State Park offers a secluded sandy beach and extensive trails with breathtaking Pacific Ocean views. This expansive gem is one of Oregon’s most extraordinary parks, attracting surfers, hikers, and beach lovers with its abundant recreational opportunities.
- Hug Point State Park - Imagine traveling by stagecoach along the shoreline before the highway was built. The beach was the only route along this coastal stretch. At low tide, visitors can walk along the original stagecoach road, where wheel ruts remain etched in the rock. Pioneers had to carefully navigate around the headland, even at low tide, giving the point and park their fitting name, Hug Point.
- Neahkahnie Mountain - This majestic peak is a place of inspiration, where the Tillamook tribe believed their most powerful deity resided. The name Neahkahnie derives from their words Ne (“place of”) and Ekahnie (“supreme deity”).
- Camp 18 Museum - For those interested in the history of logging in the Northwest or curious about vintage logging machinery, Camp 18 offers a wealth of information. Outdoor displays include various steam donkeys, from early models to advanced Willamette compound geared yarders. Other exhibits feature a large bandsaw, a self-propelled Ohio steam crane, tracked vehicles, a railroad skeleton log car, and a variety of heavy equipment and hardware. A brief stop here on the way to the Oregon Coast allows visitors to explore the historic equipment, use the restroom, and grab a coffee.
