Highlights
- Mapleton - Our first stop is at the top of Mapleton Falls for tea and coffee compliments of Joel’s Journeys. This location offers incredible views looking over the Obi Obi Valley and subtropical rainforest all around.

Montville - A lovely ridgeline drive atop the Blackall Range will then land us in Montville Artisan Village, the prettiest and most unique little village on the hinterland.
You will have over an hour to explore the wonderful Montville Artisan Village and its many novelty shops, galleries and artisan delights. - Flaxton - We will then go to a charming hinterland cottage cafe for your included lunch and drink. Attached to this cafe is shop filled with local produce, art and crafts.
- Gerrards Lookout - Next, a ridgeline drive will take us to a panoramic lookout with views of the entire Sunshine Coast coastline, from Noosa to Caloundra and as far as Moreton Island on a clear day.
- Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve - We then journey further along the ridgeline to the Maleny region where we will take you on a guided nature walk through a mesmerising remnant old-growth rainforest with giant native trees, many singing birds, pademelons (wallabies) and more. This walk is 1.2km and relatively flat. For those who don’t feel comfortable doing this walk, you can joyfully spend your time at the entrance, where there is a discovery centre and cafe with views of the Glass House Mountains.
- McCarthy’s Lookout - Following our nature walk we take a short drive to another panoramic lookout where you will experience one of the most stunning and photographed views in Australia, with unimpeded views of the picturesque Glass House Mountains.
- Maleny Chocolate Factory - We now indulge is some of the finest artisan Belgian chocolates in the region with a chocolate tasting included at Maleny’s favourite chocolate factory from Monday to Saturday and with Montville’s favourite chocolate makers on Sunday.

Flame Hill Vineyard - A drive through the Maleny village and back along the ridgeline will get us to our last stop, where you can reflect on this amazing day as you participate in a mountain top wine tasting with ocean views at the localâs favourite winery and vineyard.
After the wine tasting you can then recline your seats and enjoy the journey back down the mountain in comfort, and we will have you back to your accommodation no later than approximately 5:30pm, in time for sunset and dinner.

Tour - Maleny & Montville Tour with Artisan Village, Lunch, Wine tasting - We made a last minute booking with Joel's Journeys for Hinterland tour and chocolate and wine tasting.
This was an amazing tour, beautiful countryside, amazing views of waterfall, mountains and walk through the forest.
Joel made our trip a memorable one, with his pleasant personality, knowledge of nature and patience. Would love to book other tours with him if I am back in Noosa in future

Fantastic tour - great from beginning to end! - Joel is an outstanding tour guide. Very knowledgeable and informative. All the view stops were beautiful, the coffee, chocolate, lunch & wine were delicious. The whole experience made for a wonderful day. A brilliant day out. - This trip was absolutely amazing, the places we visited were all very different, Monville was lovely, the chocolate factory, winery, walk in for the forest very special. Joel what a really lovely person, explained everything where we visited, has a great personality and a sense of humor. We would recommend this trip to anyone and Joel the tour guide. Thank you heaps. Great Montville & surrounding tour with Joel’s Journeys - Joel was a very knowledgeable guide and did everything possible to give his clients a great experience. The tour covered a round trip
of about 160 km into the hinterland behind Noosa and other coastal holiday towns. Some of the highlights were an hour exploring the delightful Montville, a 45 minute walk in a fabulous peaceful & beautiful remnant old growth forest, beautiful views from the best lookout spots, a lovely lunch, a top rate chocolate tasting stop and a wine tasting. Everything was top class, nothing was too much effort for Joel and I thoroughly recommend this tour.

Most authentic tours around Noosa! - Joel is friendly, thoughtful and happy to share his insightful knowledge of the Qld region. The Maleny and Montville tour included many highlights (stunning private views of the glasshouse mountains, rainforest walks, amazing Aust chocolate tastings and fabulous boutique wine- all included in the tour). The boutique van is super luxurious and feels like a breeze to drive in- Joel’s complimentary local coffee was a winner to start off a fun day too! An absolute gem of a tour- highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and authentic experience run by a true blue local.

Happy tourist - Joel was an easygoing operator, included everyone on tour and went out of his way to make it a very pleasant, experience. Very knowledgeable, knows his locations, with interesting snippets of information. Yummy lunch in local cafe and great selection of chocolates all included.
