Maputo Elephant Reserve (Reserva Especial de Maputo) - Come and join us on an unforgettable adventure on a 2 days, 1 night trip and experience the beach, a safari and Maputo National Park Challets. The Reserve is located on Maputo Bay 100 kilometers from Maputo and it is a conservation area and its 1040 km2 big (only 173 Km2 smaller than New York City
water and land area), the reserve combines lakes, wetlands, swamp forests, grasslands, mangrove forests with a pristine coastline
We have 2 main beach spots to camp at Maputo Special Reserve: Dobela and Membene.
Driving around the reserve towards our campsite, you will find the vast open areas where elephants and other plain games refresh themselves; you will drive pass different fresh water lagoons with a lot of great variety of birds, hippos, and crocodiles.

Situated on Maputo Bay and a mere 100 kilometers from Maputo city, this conservation territory spans 1040 km2, just a tad less than the size of New York City inclusive of its water and land expanses. The reserve showcases an assortment of ecosystems that include lakes, marshlands, swamp forests, grassy plains, and untouched coastlines lined with mangroves.
We offer two primary camping locations within the Maputo Special Reserve: Dobela and Membene.
As you traverse the land en route to our campsite, the open landscapes provide sightings of elephants and various savanna wildlife quenching their thirst. Additionally, you’ll pass by numerous freshwater lagoons teeming with diverse bird species, hippos, and crocodiles.
