Marangu Gate - Mandara Huts
Marangu - After breakfast, you’ll depart from Moshi and head to the southeastern entrance of Kilimanjaro National Park, known as Marangu Gate. Upon arrival, you’ll have time to check in and register. This marks the beginning of your Kilimanjaro ascent. The initial part of the route takes you through woods and rainforest, where you can enjoy the eucalyptus trees and various bird species. If you’re lucky, you might spot a Colobus monkey—look out for their black or white fur! Ensure you have the right gear and footwear, as the low altitudes can result in wet, muddy soil.

Upon arrival at the Kibo Huts, organize your gear and warm clothes for the next day’s peak attempt. To prevent freezing, carry water in a thermos. Go to bed early, as you’ll need a full night’s rest for the upcoming challenge.
