• Grotta Preistorica della Cala - The Cave of Cala is the first cave to open just a few meters from the sea. It consists of a front and back cave, connected by a narrow passage, resembling an hourglass. Pebbles and bone tools indicate the presence of Neanderthal ancestors who lived in the cave during the Middle Paleolithic. Later, Homo Sapiens made more systematic use of the cave. Hunting was essential at that time, leading to the discovery of various stone tools, such as scrapers and spine tips, faunal remains, marine shells used as ornaments, bone artifacts, and hearths. The traces found on-site allow us to mentally reconstruct lifestyles from 20,000 to 40,000 years ago.

• Lentiscosa - The historic center of Lentiscosa is a hidden gem in the heart of Cilento, where history and faith blend in a captivating balance. The colorful dome of the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie is one of the village’s most recognizable symbols, thanks to its two-tone majolica coating that creates a unique geometric design. However, Lentiscosa is more than just a picturesque scene: within the old town’s streets, hidden treasures and charming places await discovery. The chapel of Santa Maria ad Martyres, for instance, is a small treasure trove of art and spirituality worth visiting. Its rare beauty makes it one of the ten must-see places in Cilento. Additionally, strolling through Lentiscosa’s alleys, one can admire the imposing walls of noble palaces, which reflect the history and tradition of this ancient village. • Locanda Del Curato - Enjoy a tasting of typical Cilento and especially Lentiscosa products at the Locanda del Curato, an ancient residence restored while preserving its classic charm. Lentiscosa offers various culinary delights for visitors. The stuffed eggplant alla Cilento, also known as “mulignane ‘mbuttunat”, is a traditional dish of Cilento cuisine, characterized by authentic and genuine flavors. However, the signature product of Lentiscosa is maracuoccio, a rare and ancient legume, recognized as a Slow Food Presidium since 2016. Marracucciata is one of the most representative dishes of Cilento cuisine, an ancient dish that has stood the test of time. It is made with maracuoccio flour, a rare and ancient legume grown only in a limited area around Lentiscosa. The flour is mixed with wheat flour and cooked in salted water. Once cooked, the flour is served with golden bread croutons sautéed in oil, onion, garlic, and chili.

• Via Spodicella - Pause to visit the Spodicella terrace, a small terrace featuring a Madonna statue built by the locals about 25/30 years ago. Positioned to seemingly protect the four hamlets of the municipality: Camerota, Licusati, Lentiscosa, and Marina di Camerota.

• Pianoro Ciolandrea - The Pianoro di Ciolandrea is a stunning terrace located in San Giovanni a Piro. Known as “La terrazzo del Cilento” or “Belvedere of the four regions”, it offers a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Policastro and the entire coast of the Marine Park Costa degli Infreschi and Masseta, the Lucanian coast, where the Christ of Maratea is clearly visible, the Calabrian coast, and, on clear days, the Stromboli in the Aeolian Islands.
