Its name comes from the calcareous material that coats its walls. The cave features white stalactites hanging from its high ceiling. The reflection of the caves and sunlight creates a stunning turquoise hue in the water.
- I Faraglioni - The Faraglioni rocks are three towering rock formations rising from the sea on the island’s southern side. Each rock has a name: the first, still connected to the land, is called Stella; the second is Faraglione Di Mezzo (the one in the middle); and the third is Faraglione Di Fuori or Scòpolo, meaning the head stretching into the sea.
- Marina Piccola Beach - This charming little bay boasts incredible shades of blue and turquoise in its shallow waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming.
- Green Grotta - The Green Grotto, locally known as “Grotta Verde,” is one of the beautiful caves around Capri. The water surrounding the cave emits a stunning green color, an effect created by the reflection of light.
- Punta Carena Lighthouse - The Lighthouse of Punta Carèna stands prominently on the island’s southwestern side. Known as “Fàro” in Italian, it was constructed in 1866 and is the second tallest lighthouse in Italy, after Genova. Behind it looms the precipice of “La Mìgliera,” lined with defense walls built by the British in the early 1900s. The lighthouse is surrounded by crystal-clear waters and enjoys sunlight all day long.
- Blue Grotto - The Blue Grotto, or “Grotta Azzùrra” in Italian, is a sea cave on Capri’s coast. Sunlight passing through an underwater cavity creates a unique blue reflection that illuminates the cave. During Roman times, the grotto served as Emperor Tiberius’s personal swimming area. Visitors can enter the grotto on small boats provided by local personnel. Access ticket: €14.00 per person, not included in the tour price.
- Villa Malaparte - Casa Malaparte, also known as Villa Malaparte, is a house on Punta Massullo on Capri’s eastern side. It is a prime example of Italian modern and contemporary architecture. Casa Malaparte is a red masonry box with reverse pyramidal stairs leading to a rooftop patio. On the roof is a freestanding curving white wall of increasing height. It sits on a precarious cliff 32 meters above the sea, overlooking the Gulf of Salerno. Access to this private property is either by foot from the town of Capri or by boat and a staircase cut into the cliff. Casa Malaparte’s interior and exterior, particularly the rooftop patio, are prominently featured in Jean-Luc Godard’s 1963 film, Contempt (Le Mépris).
