An experience you truly don't want to miss !!! - Me and my mother had the most wonderful time on the 3-day trip to the Merzouga desert! Our driver Hassan was wonderful, funny and attentive. He was always keen to teach us more about the area when we had any questions and always carefully explained what the schedule was. The stops you make along the way really make this experience even more worth it. The trip is really worth the money, seeing the sahara desert is an experience that will truly change you. The people in the desert camp were some of the nicest and open people I have ever met. Do not miss this !!!

Amira and Mohammed in Morocco - We were accompanied by Nourddine on this magnificent adventure. During the trip we talked about a lot of things and he revealed many curiosities about Morocco and Moroccan culture (which we love). And we were renamed by him as Amira and Mohammed. The places are breathtaking, the situations observed, the experiences lived, the past adventures have made this trip almost improvised, the most beautiful of our lives. The tour is very well organized, with various stops and visits, the nights in the desert were beautiful and despite being afraid of being too cold, we had a great time. It didn't feel like we were doing all those hours of driving because we chatted a lot, sang, shared music and made philosophical speeches. Life here is Life. We will return ♥️

Also recommended for families - Very nice tour, you see a lot of things and you stay in company. We travelled as a family with our 15 and 13 year olds who were very well. Our driver Brahim was very attentive to everyone's needs and drove very well. The desert is fantastic and the organization great. The base camp is very basic and in January it is very very cold, you have to leave prepared especially for the night. The journey is long, as described. We visited the Gorges of Todra, but did not see the famous route of the Gorges of Dades. Great value for money. I recommend it.

Tour marrakec merzouga 3days - With ando travel we found ourselves very well! in particular a special thanks to our driver Ibrahim, along the way he answered our curiosity and gave us info about the places we crossed, we shared with him and the other guys of the bus moments of fun listening to Italian and Berber music! The only flaw, I would leave more free time to ait ben haddou, with the guide was interesting, but I would have preferred then let us free to explore the town a little more and freedom on lunch. This was unclear and so we spent an hour and a half waiting to be served for food. For the rest beautiful experience, especially in the desert!I recommend buying the luxury option because the attempted camp is really nice, as well as the accommodation, food and location literally immersed in the desert!

Information to know going in - We (my husband and I and our 7 year old) partook in this experience and would rate it a 3/5 overall. However, each individual part of the trip deserves its own review, which we have presented below, along with some information that we hope is helpful to other travelers considering this voyage. For point of reference my husband speaks French and Arabic and has lived throughout the Middle East, and I have lived and travel throughout Europe, so we’ve seen things and been places. Not our first rodeo. —Day 1: 5 stars The first day was lovely. We had ample opportunities during the bus ride to have photos in the mountains, coffee, and bathrooms. We stopped in a town and were blown away by our hilarious, informative, and gracious tour guide (who starred in a Game of Thrones episode!) and learning about the local culture. —Day 1 hotel/evening: 2 stars This was a huge disappointment. The hotel was overbooked resulting in my family only receiving one double bed for all three of us. They brought in a crib claiming it was good for children up to 8 years old. They did do their best to fix the situation after we said this wasn’t going to happen. They brought in a long cushion and fitted it with a sheet. We heard of other travelers having to share a bed with a stranger that was part of our group, and some members of the group were taken to a separate hotel at late notice. Nowhere in the booking does it say anything about having to share a room with a fellow person on the tour. The fact that they had to share a bed, to me, is unforgivable. We heard of others on our tour that ended up being walked to the separate hotel which would certainly have been an option for us if not for the spare cushion and bed vice a crib. Apparently this other hotel (although freezing at night) had plenty of other rooms. So why couldn’t we have all gone there? It seemed highly disorganized. On top of that the hotel was very hands on with charging for any beverages, including coffee in the morning and water at dinner. —Day 2 travel: 3 stars The locations we stopped at were gorgeous. However we were disappointed with our tour guide at the Gorge. It seemed like our bus driver just called a random guide waiting at this tourist spot to get him to give us a tour. The tour was not very instructive and it felt like we were just trying to kill time by walking around the little village which ended with the obligatory stop at the carpet weaver’s home. —Day 2 desert: 5 stars THIS WAS AMAZING! 100% do the princess package. We had our own private tent for our family (not the case with the general package), the food was delicious and abundant (not the case with the general package we heard), and the camel rides were amazing. This was by far the best part of our trip. —Day 3: 2 stars We sat in the bus most of day three. The food was fine. They charged the same for our 7 year old’s buffet cost as they did adults during lunch. The drop off was slightly chaotic. They say they only drop off in the city, but we ended up taking someone to the airport and then haphazardly meandered to various stops while crisscrossing and doublebacking through the city. In the end we opted to just leave the bus at the fourth to the final stop and take a taxi because of the chaos. Without stopping for dinner this was a long time to go from lunch to 9pm without substantive food. The last stop we had only had cookies and chips for purchase. We wished there would have been a dinner stop added even if it was just picking up something small for the road, or at least some more information about what the options might be to prepare better. Information for future travelers: 1. Go into this understanding that you are on a road trip to get to the desert. You will have small stops along the way, but it’s about 10 hours total to get from Marrakech to the desert, so keep that in mind. 2. The “optional” tour guides are not optional. For 250 dh per person, it wasn’t a big deal, but understand you will need a lot of cash for this trip for all the added expenses like tour guides, lunches, coffees, bathrooms, and tips. 3. Book the princess package. Just do it, it’s worth it. 4. Understand this trip goes from 7am the first day to about 9pm or later on the last day. We probably wouldn’t do this again knowing what we know now. We would have found other ways to get to the desert and spent a few days there instead. However, we appreciated all the work that went into organizing this trip and the individuals who each worked so hard and shared themselves with us all.
