Marrakech-Ait benhaddou-Ouarzazate-Roses valley-Dades Valley

Marrakech - Rise and shine! It’s 7 AM, and we’re ready to journey through time. Our trusty driver awaits us outside the hotel, and we hop into the car, excited to begin. As we leave the city behind, we’re transported to a simpler time, surrounded by quaint villages and bustling markets. It’s a rare opportunity to experience a way of life that few get to witness.

Tizi n Tichka - We weren’t far from the city, but as we travelled further, the skyscrapers and urban development gradually disappeared and were replaced by the High Atlas Mountains and some douars built on their slopes.

Tizi n Tichka - The Tizi-n-Tichka, standing tall at 2260 meters, is the second-highest summit in Morocco, second only to Toubkal. As we journey through this beautiful road, we are blessed with breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains, leading us to the ancient Moroccan palace of Ait Benhaddou Ksar.

Ait Ben Haddou - Ait Benhaddou Ksar is a true wonder of the world. Its magnificence has earned it the prestigious title of a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. The site has been the backdrop of several blockbuster movies, including Gladiator, The Mummy, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones, making it a place of great inspiration. Join us as we explore the stunning beauty of Ait Benhaddou Ksar and enjoy a delicious lunch amidst its breathtaking sights.

Ouarzazate - As we venture through the Kasbahs, we will make our way to Ouarzazate, a city as enchanting as it is historic. Known as the “door of the desert” and the “Hollywood of Africa”, this destination is nothing short of mesmerizing. After a brief 20-minute drive, we will arrive in Ouarzazate and have 45 minutes to explore the cinema museum and Taourirt Kasbah.

El Kelaa M’gouna - We have just completed our visit to Ouarzazate, a charming city known for being a world-class film studio. But the highlight of our trip is yet to come, as we are on our way to the Valley of Roses. This place is not just a nickname but a given name because the people of this area earn their living by growing roses and extracting oils, perfumes, and cosmetics using traditional natural methods that ensure safety standards and provide better results compared to their counterparts that are made from manufactured materials.

Dades Gorges - Wow, these rocks are remarkable! Our driver told us they’re called the “toes of monkeys”. Upon closer inspection, we realized that the rocks are shaped like fingers, but they’re too big to belong to monkeys. They must be the fingers of giant gorillas! We’re taking a quick break before continuing our journey to Hotel Dades, about 26 kilometers away.
We’re looking forward to dinner and our first night in the hotel. Overnight At a traditional Kasbah in Dades Gorges

Additional Information

It’s said that a wealthy local family once refused a poor woman and her son hospitality and that God was displeased, causing the family to be buried under the mounds of sand that now make up Erg Chebbi, located 50km south of Erfoud. But the reality of these dunes is genuinely remarkable. They can shape-shift and can reach heights of up to 160m. The way they illuminate in a beautiful rose gold hue until the afternoon sun changes their colour to orange, pink, and purple is truly a sight to behold. These majestic dunes rise above the twin towns of Merzouga and are nothing short of breathtaking.

Tour 3 days + quad - It has been a very good experience, full of anecdotes and moments that will remain in the memory. The views have been very interesting. Many hours on the bus if you leave Marrakech, thank you that the bus had air conditioning and we carried a good driver. Accommodation in Dades, Auberge Tissadrine, unbeatable dinner with show of the hotel boys. We hired apart the return of the jaima in Quad, it was a super experience to see the sunrise from the dunes.

Marrakech and Merzouga 3 days/2 nights - Accommodation at the medina hotel (marrakech) was excellent. The entire staff, especially Mbarrek, was super attentive and helpful. They were always friendly and concerned about our well-being. The environment is simple but very well located and extremely clean! The cleaning lady was very attentive and attentive to the service. The excursion to the Merzouga desert is a little tiring, due to the distance, but it was worth it for the landscapes and everything we learned. Our driver (Ayoub) and guide (Mohammed) were impeccable and made the trip easier and more enriching. The first night's hotel was an incredible surprise. Beautiful, comfortable and with charming surroundings. We admired a starry sky that we could almost touch. Dinner and breakfast approved!! Attentive and warm staff. The camp was below our expectations. Despite being a base camp it could have offered a little more comfort. The beds were hard, as if they were made of straw or other rustic material and there were no bath towels included (which I hadn't been warned about). The staff was not warm or welcoming. Dinner and breakfast were also not good, with no options. The camel ride is very uncomfortable. On the way there, they gave the option for those who didn't want to go by car, but the return trip was paid and cost €15/person. It's worth the experience, but I would only return with more comfortable facilities in the desert.

3 days/2 nights in Merzouga - The trip went very well both there and back, professional and attentive driver and guide! We made several stops in various places to take photos, buy souvenirs and learn a little about the history of the localities, in between eating and so on! The first night at the hotel was 5*, very well received, great food (dinner+breakfast) a stunning view from both the room and the terraces! On the second night at the desert camp, the reception was not very warm from those who worked there and the food was not the best either (no option to choose between dinner and breakfast), however the experience in the desert was good among ride a camel, ride a jeep (payable), watch the sunset and sunrise and even go skiing in the dunes. I highly recommend it 👍🏻

Great experience - I had an unforgettable experience with Karma Dir Travel on a tour from Marrakesh to Merzouga. Our driver, Morat, was incredibly kind and professional, making the journey smooth and enjoyable. The camel ride through the dunes at sunset was magical, and spending the night in a desert camp under the stars was a highlight. Everything was well-organized and exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend Karma Dir Travel!

Excursion Merzouga - Very good value for money. The manager is very available, responsive and responsive. The tour allows you to visit interesting remarkable sites before arriving at the dunes of Merzouga. Special mention to Tinrir Palm and Casbah Guide and Todra Gorge, very nice and interesting. The evening/night then sunrise in the dunes is well organized. Only downside, the multiple camps and quad bikes that break the silence that could be enjoyed there a few years ago but is no longer there.

Good experience - We have really enjoyed the adventure despite the heat and the hours we take to arrive. Everything was surprising because we didn’t know exactly where we were staying, but we really liked it.
