Additional Information

When an affluent family from the vicinity refused to provide shelter to an indigent woman and her child, it is said that the divine took offense and enshrouded them beneath the sandy hills 50 kilometers south of Erfoud, known as Erg Chebbi. Such is the mythical account of the sand mountains that tower impressively over the neighboring towns of Merzouga….

Awesome 3 days to merzouga - I found the link of this site online by accident and to be honest i was one of the luckiest guests that had the chance to try this trip, i had a great time joining this group trend... it was absolutely stunning crossing some beautiful villages on my way to the desert.Within this journey I passed on some interesting spots like Atlas Mountains it was absolutely big and fabulous after that there were many small villages that show the real pure moroccan roots which's amazing...then we got into the hollywood of africa (Ouarzazat) on our way to Bomaln to spend a night there in a very clean and quiet atmosphere i had a peaceful night actually. In the morning we started our target to Merzoga my main destination for spending a good night there in luxury tents to be ready and relaxed well for a good berber breakfast to go out for a camel ride in the morning.after all these beautiful activities we decided to move on back to marrakesh but taking a different road so we can see Ait Ben Hado the historical spot for all the time after that we went to another Kasbah which's called Kasbat Telwat it was amazing telling many stories that gave us a chance to take a glance back in time to see some actions behind Morocco scenes. Then we had to go back to the magical red city (Marrakesh) that I'm in love with. Hisham was a very nice person that kept himself on track the whole trip explaining to us everything and anything that we were interested in to know.

Great fun. The desert experience was amazing! - The tour was very good and fun! We had a lovely time with the family and got to know fantastic places. The highlight was the night at the desert. It was an amazing experience and Ayoub (the host) was the perfect host. The camp was lovely decorated. The host cooked a wonderful dinner for us and played music and told us all about the culture. Totally recommend to do the desert tour! On our way back to Marrakech the restaurant proposed was not the best. Maybe better luck next time.

Scam at every stop. Book at your own risk! - In short, while there were some enjoyable elements such as the camel rides and the beautiful desert scenery, many things that were promised in the itinerary was not delivered, or we were asked for more money to top up. Transport was not as promised: It was boiling hot at over 40 degrees and there was no air conditioning despite many asking for it to be turned on. On the way out of the desert, I was also separated from others who were also heading to the same direction, the guide citing I was provided with a “private transport”. It turned out to be a taxi (also no A/C) where the driver picked up and dropped off additional passengers along the way. Lack of communication: We didn’t have any guide, only a driver who didn’t speak much English. He didn’t speak much at all in fact - he did not explain our itinerary, so no one had any idea where we were going next, or when we stopped for a photo, where we were or what the attraction was. Dishonest guide: When we were dropped at Ait Ben Haddou, we had the expectation that entry fee into the castle is 30dhs. The guide said no, we had to pay 50dhs because 30dhs was only to see the exterior (?!). I found out later that other travellers entering the same castle only paid 30dhs. Accommodation varied: On the first day, the hotel staff claimed A/C was not working so we slept in the heat again. On the second day, we were taken to a hotel to drop off our bigger bags and luggage. The guide claimed that my hotel was not the same as the others but 20km away, and I had to top up 150dhs to have my luggage stored in the same hotel as the rest, while another family was forced to pay 1200dhs for the same reason. We all booked the same tour, and we were not staying overnight at the hotel, there was no reason why we should pay more just to store our bags at the same drop off point as the rest. Also, to be aware that despite citing that dinner is included on the itinerary, any sort of liquid (water, juices, etc) is not included and we had to pay extra.
