Wonderful - My 12 year old daughter and I had a wonderful time. The cooking lesson, the tea ceremony and meeting the Amal ladies was inspiring. We also visited the restaurant in Gueliz with our wider family. It's a wonderful place.

Sign up for Amal Cooking Class! - My husband and I visited Amal after a recommendation from a family member. I was not sure what to expect, but this experience was very special. We made fish tagine and vegetable couscous. Both dishes were full of flavor and the teaching group was extremely hands on and helpful. I will recommend this to anyone who wants to take a cooking class in Morocco! The best part is your participation goes to a meaningful cause and organization.

An amazing morning, with amazing people. - This is why we travel!!
It's hard to put into words, just how much we learned, and enjoyed our morning with the women of Amal. What a fantastic, and worthy organisation. Thank you for teaching us how to make a 'proper' Moroccon Tagine, and thank you for sharing Amal's story with us. I'd recommend this cookery course to anyone.

Our favorite Marrakech experience! - The cooking class at Amal was one of our favorite experiences while in Marrakech. Not only was the food we made incredible, but we also got a great education about Moroccan cuisine and culture. What made the class extra special was knowing that we were supporting a wonderful organization that supports women and does an incredible amount of community service to those affected by the earthquake. I would highly recommend this for anybody visiting Marrakech and plan to go back next time we’re in Marrakech!

What a fabulous morning!!! - I must confess that when I registered for Amal's cooking class my expectations were very high: it was the 6th time I visited Marrakech, I am a big fan of Morocco and Moroccan cuisine. But this experience exceeded all my expectations, and I have no words to thank and pay due tribute to Amal.
On the one hand, because of what I learned about Moroccan cuisine. I'm a big fan, and in my house, I've already made some recipes, which are much appreciated by family and friends. But being able to be with Amal and learn from their teachers was a privilege! It was as if I were with friends, who delightfully shared their wisdom and experience with me. It was wonderful!
But this was also an opportunity to get to know Amal project better, and the work they do to empower women is extraordinary, but also to help rural communities that were victims of the September 2023 earthquake.
I am deeply grateful to have had the chance to spend a morning with these amazing Women. It was an authentic and wonderful gastronomic, cultural and humanitarian experience.
I dare to say that having a cooking class at Amal Targa and/or a meal at their Gueliz restaurant is mandatory in any visit to Marrakech. Thank you Amal!

The Best Experience ❤️ - What a wonderful, wonderful day I had. I ended up being the only client of the day which made it super special in every way. We joked I'd never had so many people watching me peel a potato. All of the staff were so welcoming. I felt like I'd known them forever. The cooking itself was great. Fun! The conversation was just fabulous to have breakfast with everyone was an absolute honour drinking tea together. All dressed up. Talking about our family lives was a really beautiful moment. There was laughter and there was tears. This was profoundly the most perfect day I've ever had in Morocco. I cannot wait to go back and to see everybody. It was an absolute Joy from start to finish and I was genuinely sad to leave. Great to have the recipes sent to me afterwards so I can get cooking at home. So much love to all and thank you again!. I would highly recommend everybody takes part in this as one of your experiences in Marrakech not only here at the cookery school but also pop along to the restaurant as well. The food is amazing, you won't regret it.

Best experience in Morocco - This cooking class has to be my highlight of my trip to Morocco. With all the staff there being very friendly and answering all your questions. This was not just a cooking class but a way to get to know some lovely locals and hear about their life. I'm very grateful for this experience.
Doing this class is also a way to support a more sustainable tourism in Morocco.
The food we made was amazing as well:)
Thank you to everyone who made this such a wonderful experience!

Don’t miss this experience! - We had an amazing time attending this cooking class! The staff at Amal led us through making several different types of tagine as well as explaining the process of making mint tea and the mission of their organization. The grounds were lovely and peaceful. Best of all, the food was delicious! This experience is a must for Marrakesh travelers.

Moroccan Cooking Class - Our group had a wonderful cooking experience! The ladies were all very helpful and the class was informative and delicious. Love that this facility is teaching these women to be able to support themselves. Loved the gardens and the small pottery we bought thank you Amal!

Great idea...but needs some fine tuning - The setting for this class is quite a way out of town but a wonderful chance to escape the noise and bustle of the city. The gardens are lovely. The cooking class was hands on and fun but badly organised. Rhita (whose English is excellent) left us for a "20 minute" break which ended up being almost an hour, on our own with no communication and no water. Everyone just disappeared leaving us sitting around with no idea what was going on. We eventually had to go and ask for some water as it was a hot day. We were not advised at the time we had to pay for it (not expensive and happy to pay but should have been told). During the whole class an American assistant lay about chatting on her phone outside which wasn't very professional. The ladies doing the cooking were wonderful and the pastilla recipe very tasty. We were told the recipes would be emailed to us the Saturday following the class but we didn't get them until well over a week later because they failed to send them before the national holiday, despite my emailing to chase before EID started. All in all, I would recommend the experience and the foundation which does wonderful work, but the class itself needs to be fine-tuned to be more professional and the staff running the courses need more training. We did other cooking classes on the same trip which made this one look very amateur (though food excellent).
