DesertBrise Travel - Depart early morning from your riad or hotel in Marrakech and journey through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass (2260 m), the highest road pass in Morocco. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the mountains and valleys, winding roads, stunning landscapes with varied colors, and Berber villages along the route. Visit several kasbahs, including Tamnougalte and Ait Benhaddou. Ait Benhaddou, a 16th-century UNESCO site, is one of the best-preserved and most spectacular kasbahs in Morocco and a popular location for Hollywood films. Continue through the palm-lined Draa river valley, arriving in Zagora, the capital of dates. Proceed towards the gateway to the Sahara desert, Mhamid, with Khalil. Dinner and overnight stay in a Nomadic standard camp.
DAY 2: FIRST DAY TREK – M’HAMID – RAS NEKHAL – SIDI NAJI
M’Hamid - After breakfast at the camp, depart on foot from Mhamid with the guide and camel caravan. Hike through the Sahara desert towards the Palm Grove. Enjoy tea and lunch in the shade of Tamaris. After a rest, continue to the sanctuary of Sidi Naji, a place rich in history and local customs, where oral tradition says a marabout lived 18 generations ago. Set up camp at the foot of the sand dunes for the night.
DAY 3: SIDI NAJI – ERG ZAHAR
M’Hamid - As the sun rises, break camp and head towards “HNANISH” through rocky plateaus. Have lunch near a Tamarisk. In the late afternoon, set up camp at “la Hananesh.” Spend the night in the Sahara desert in a tent or under the stars.
DAY 4: DAY TREK ERG ZAHAR – LHDIBAT
Marrakech - Trek and have lunch in the desert. Return to M’hamid in the late afternoon via the sacred oasis. Spend the night with locals in the village or in a fixed bivouac.
