Good experience - A lot more terrifying than I thought it would be, these camels are tall ! A unique and must do experience if it’s something on your list. Our guide was lovely but be aware no English is spoken by the camel leaders.

Camel ride - We both really enjoyed this afternoon, the camels were really good tempered and the guide very friendly. Stopped off halfway round for mint tea which was lovely. Highly recommend this trip and already planning to do the overnight one next time

amazing!! - the shuttle drivers to start were so patient when our group got lost finding them! they each were so nice telling us all abt the culture and open any questions we had about the city/country. the camels were adorable and it was surreal being able to ride one. everyone had an amazing time with no complaints and the tea was delicious :)

Sunset Camel Ride Palm Groves - Loved every moment - they were on time for pick up from hotel, took us in a clean air conditioned van, gave us clean Moroccan traditional clothing to wear and assisted us with it, they took photos of us throughout the whole experience, rode the camel and drank Moroccan tea which tasted grear. It was an amazing experience. What I would have preferred is for the Bedouin to engage with tourists when giving tea and also for the camels to be treated well (they didn’t look like they were treated well to be honest). But apart from that it was a whole lot of fun with great service!

Check you reservation to eliminate disappointments - Be sure to check your reservation. There are two flight. The first one, where you can experience the sun rise and the other one which is just a normal balloon flight. You definitely want to be on the first one. !! We made a reservation for the first flight, but were put on the second and no one told us. We found out when we had driven all the way to the air-field that we had a booking for the later flight and at that time the sun had already rissen.

Camel ride - We were picked up at our hotel in a van and driven to the site. We were allowed to store our backpacks in the office. The guys arranging the camel ride were friendly. They spoke very little English, if any. Mostly Arabic and French. We were still able to communicate in what little French we spoke. The ride was about 45 minutes to a site where we got off the camels and took pictures and walked around a bit. We got back on the camels for another 45 minutes. We were given mint tea, bread and olives when we arrived back. We met some other people from the US and Belgium and spent some time eating and talking to them. We were given the option of being driven back to our hotel or another place of our choice in the area. They dropped us off at a restaurant in Marrakesh. The overall experience was pretty good. We felt bad for the camels, the way they're treated, but maybe we were being overly sensitive. Seems like they're just a little rough with them at times.

Very hot camel ride - The tour said two hours with a guide, It was only around 40 minuite, got picked up from hotel at ten and finished ride at 11.00. They need to describe it better, then the guide wants one hundred dirhams 😡

Could do better - My boys loved the chance to ride the camels but sadly the workers don’t make much effort to make it an experience. Didn’t get tea and the guide who lead the camels had very little English and so couldn’t make much conversation. I wouldn’t mind if I had been prepared but on booking it said the guide would speak English so I was therefore expecting that. I was a bit nervous of the wild dogs running around near the camels but luckily they didn’t do any harm and the guide did try and get them away.

Not for animal lovers - As we went through our TUI rep at the the hotel (Riu Tikida gardens); we were optimistic this would involve the trip being ethical and beneficial for both the local people and the animals. We were very mistaken, the camels are roped together with cheap frayed rope that you can clearly see ribs excessively at their skin. They did not have fat on the right places and scrapped for food whilst walking with a tourist on their back. The follow9ng camels are tethered so tightly to the one leading that when they stop they bend their necks back so far it is uncomfortable to watch. The camels are definitely not happy with this ordeal they are put through continuously all day and it shows the moment you get on. Luckily myself and my partner tried to comfort the camels by stroking them and attempting to remove the debris from their coat, it was obvious the camel I was on behind my partner craved the affection as they nuzzled to receive a gentle touch from her. Avoid at all costs if you can see the true nature of these activities and are not obsessed with your next best photo to upload to facebook. We shall be complaining to the rep at the hotel and contacting TUI direct as this is a complete abuse of a living animal.
