One of the Highlights of Our Trip! - My adult daughter like experiential activities so she booked us several activities like that during our trip to Spain, Portugal and Morocco. They varied in quality but this cooking class with Chef Laila not only hit it out of the park for those kinds of activities, but it was a highlight of our entire trip was almost three weeks in three countries and we did a lot of activities and tours and saw a lot of things. What made this special was Chef Laila herself. She was warm, opened her home to us, was fun and made the whole experience special. We had other people in our group from other countries and meeting them and getting to know them made the experience even better. Chef Laila met us on a street corner and once we were all there, she took us to the market. We shopped for ingredients for our meal, and she explained about the different shops, spices and she even had a couple of places lined up to give us samples and we learned so much. Then we went back to her home (beautiful) and met members of her family and sat around and talked with them and the other people in the class while she and her helper did some prep. Once that was done, we all stood around a large table, and she gave each of us tasks to complete involving making the dishes. We talked and laughed the whole time. After the recipes were prepared and cooked, we all sat down and shared the meal. We had both meat and vegetarian dishes, and it was all so good. And Chef Laila even shared the recipes with us after we were done. When we parted it was like we all were leaving long-time friends. That's what happens when you cook and break bread with people. I know I'm repeating myself, but this was something my daughter and I will always remember that we did together, and it was one of the high points of our trip.

Amazing class… must do in Marrakesh - We did a class on Friday including myself, my wife, and our daughter who is 10. The experience was wonderful. Tremendous value, and delicious food. For the price of buying a good meal you can make it and learn and have a memorable experience. Laila was so kind to us and especially our daughter who had a blast.

A Must-Have experience when visiting Marrakech - This was a fantastic half-day activity spent making seasonal and delicious food with Laila and her lovely family! We were in a group of other travelers with the day starting off with tea before we delved into the cooking. The meal included 2 delicious mains (one berber tagine and a chicken tagine) with a variety of seasonal and traditional side dishes and a lovely dessert to finish. Everyone was so helpful and gave us such interesting tips for both cooking the food at home and general cooking insights that are so insightful even for experienced cooks. It was also suitable for all dietary requirements with a variety of foods that catered to all. I really recommend this as an afternoon activity where you can try authentic Moroccan food and meet some brilliant local people!

Fun, educational and delicious!! - My mum and I absolutely loved Chef Laila’s class! From learning about the produce and seeing how the pastry is made at the market, to learning about the spices and of course the cooking itself (in our case: pastila, tajine and a refreshing fruit and cinnamon dessert), it was a wonderful, social and fun experience. Chef Laila leads the class with humour and lots of positive energy, and the food turned out absolutely amazing 😍 this class is a must-do in Marrakech if you love cooking and Moroccan cuisine!!

A Highlight of Our Time in Marrakech! - This experience ended up being one of our favorites in Morocco! Chef Laila and her daughter, Asma, are so incredibly kind and this was such a fun opportunity for hands-on learning. We met up with the group and Asma took us to the local market. We decided what appetizer we wanted to make as a group and shopped for pastry znd fresh veggies. Asma also showed us where they buy chicken, but they had already prepped and cleaned the chicken we were going to cook that evening. We then went back to their home and met her family, including her very fun aunties and her adorable daughter. We were served tea and water and then got down to the cooking. Asma had us all peel, grate, and chop all the veggies for our appetizer (vegetable pastillas). Then we marinated the chicken and Asma taught us how to cook it in the pressure cooker and tajine. She is very funny, engaging, and full of very helpful tips on shopping and cooking in Morocco. If you're thinking about buying spices or a tajine, definitely wait until after the class to make sure you get Asma's local advice first! After a bit of a wait for the chicken to cook, we sat down to an amazing meal! The veggie pastillas were flaky and so flavorful. The lemon chicken tajine was INCREDIBLE - so moist, flavorful, and the sauce was amazingly caramelized. Perfect for dipping the bread into! Finally, we had pastry and fresh fruit for dessert, which was a delightfully fresh way to end the meal. Overall, we cannot recommend this experience enough!
