Jardin Majorelle - After breakfast at your Hotel/Riad, your Private Driver and Guide will join you to begin your amazing visit to the Majorelle Gardens, which feature over 300 plant species from five continents. This vibrant garden, with its magical contrast of Majorelle blue, yellow, and lush greenery, will captivate you. This botanical and artist’s landscape garden in Marrakech was created by French Orientalist artist Jacques Majorelle in 1923 and opened to the public in 1947. It includes a Cubist villa designed by French architect Paul Sinoir in the 1930s.
-
Koutoubia Mosque - Leaving the new town, we drive through the walls of the old town, known as the Medina, to the Koutoubia Mosque. Founded in 1147, it is Marrakech’s largest mosque and a city landmark that has inspired other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat. Your guide will provide a tour and extensive information about it.
-
Bab Agnaou - Next, we continue our exploration by passing through the imperial Kasbah and stopping at the famous gate, Bab Agnaou. One of the 19 gates that allow entry into the ramparts of Marrakech, this gate dates back to the Almohad Berber period in the 12th century. It served as an entrance to the administrative and military complex of the Caliphal Kasbah from the south of the city. Flanked by two cannons, it is one of Marrakech’s most impressive gates.
-
Bahia Palace - We then arrive at an important monument included in your visit: Bahia Palace. Driving through the Jewish quarter, you’ll reach the Bahia, an 8,000-square-meter marvel of intricate marquetry, plasterwork, and zouak (painted wood). Built by Grand Vizier Si Moussa in the 1860s, the palace features salons with intricate marquetry and zouak ceilings, but the highlight is the Cour d’Honneur, a grand courtyard with a 1,500-square-meter floor of Italian Carrara marble. Despite its vast area, only a portion of the palace’s eight hectares and 150 rooms is open to the public. Its grand spaces sometimes host important cultural events.
-
Souk Semmarine - Next, we continue with a historical guided walking tour of the medina of Marrakech, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its souks are filled with captivating scents and vibrant colors. We walk through the Semmarine Souks to explore and discover the colorful markets or ‘souks.’ Follow your guide to uncover the markets in Marrakech’s Medina, where Arab and Berber cultures burst with color, noise, and originality. Smell spices, taste olives, touch leather goods, and buy local handicrafts.
-
Jemaa el-Fnaa - Adjacent to the souks, this is the social heart of the medina, featuring snake charmers, acrobats, musicians, storytellers, and water carriers. The square has a unique atmosphere that makes it one of the most famous squares in the world. Immerse yourself in this cultural richness with its vibrant atmosphere, colors, and spice aromas.
-
Ben Youssef Madrasa - Finally, we conclude our journey with the Ben Youssef Madrasa, the largest Koranic school and a jewel of Saadian architecture. Now a historical site, the Ben Youssef Madrasa was the largest Islamic college in Morocco at its peak. Named after the adjacent Ben Youssef Mosque, founded by Almoravid Sultan Ali ibn Yusuf (reigned 1106-1142), it is considered one of the top attractions in the red city. Your guide will provide extensive information about it.
Then return to your Hotel/Riad accommodation.
