Excellent historical tour of Marrakesh - Great tour and informative guide who knew his stuff and was happy to explain the history behind many of the things we saw and experienced. Ismail was courteous and fri madly and made us feel very at ease whilst navigating the soil and the historical sites. Well worth the money and time if you are new to Marrakesh.

Fantastic Eight Tour Marrakech with Ismail - The private tour hosted by Ismail Dabbab was a quintessential experience. Our tour guide was Ismail and his charisma was as bright as the épices in the souks we visited. Ismail’s made the history of Marrakech come alive in an interesting and fun way. His desire to deliver a top notch experience was evident as our 3 hour tour turned into a 5 hour adventure! We visited the Herbalism and received an in depth explanation of Argan Oil, epices, teas and more. We also saw the oldest women only Hammam. Finally Ismail took us to a number of shops that had fantastic wares and he assisted in negotiating the best prices.
Overall we had a fantastic day and would recommend Ismail to anyone looking for a private tour of Marrakech.

El Bahia Palast - Our visit to Bahia Palace was a unique experience. Fortunately, we were accompanied by Mr. Ismail, who warmly welcomed us and accompanied us throughout the tour. He provided us with guidance materials and gave us valuable information about this wonderful sight.
Mr. Ismail was excellent at explaining the history of the palace and its architectural details, which made our visit even more enjoyable and educational. I highly recommend a visit to Bahia Palace, especially with a guide like Mr. Ismail, to make the experience unforgettable.

The PERFECT way to experience Marrakech! - I am sure there are many wonderful guides in Marrakech, but I can't imagine anyone better than Ismail and Rachid! They both speak very good English (as well as many other languages), and went above and beyond in every way-- the very best of Moroccan hospitality.
Rachid is a very safe driver with a kind, gentle personality. He arrived at our hotel EARLY with an impeccably clean and air conditioned car (so nice in the June heat!) and gave us a little tour of the new city on our way to meet Ismail. Ismail is a FANTASTIC guide-- he tailored the tour perfectly to our schedule and our interests. He answered every question patiently and thoroughly-- we learned so much about Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, and-- most importantly to us--contemporary Moroccan culture. Our tour finished with Moroccan tea and sweets at a local, street side cafe. I try not to eat too much sugar-- the whole experience was DEFINITELY worth it, a taste of Morocco in all the best ways!
Update: Ismail and Rachid are lifesavers! We flew Royal Air Maroc, and some of our checked luggage was lost. Even after our tour was over, Ismail was messaging me, calling the airport, and contacting friends who worked at the airport to help us. The airport and call center had no information for us, and the concierge at our (very nice) hotel basically told us to give up. But Ismail suggested that Rachid take us to the airport just in case the luggage was there and hadn't been tagged correctly. He arranged for his friend to meet us at the airport and moved us past the lines to the lost baggage, AND WE FOUND OUR LUGGAGE!).
With a little bit of extra effort, they did what the airline employees and concierges at a 5 star hotel could not. We left Marrakech with a huge fondness and respect for Moroccan resourcefulness, warmth, kindness, and hospitality!!!
A PERFECT way to experience Marrakech.

Deep Historical Information - some cautions! - The tour guide was good. We wanted a historical tour that would take us through the major sites. Only really got to see two, the main Mosque, Koutoubia Mosque, and Ben Youssef Medersa the historic Islamic college. We ended the tour after 2.5 hrs. Ismail was very kind. However, there were a few disappointing things. When we got to the mosque, he spent 20 min on the history of dynasties etc and would have continued until we asked to move on and see the foundation pillars of the destroyed older mosque. He would start his lecture by asking a question, ‘do you know x’ or ‘what are the x’ - don’t ask me a question,, this is why I’m on a tour to learn not be quizzes on things I don’t know. But the most disappointing thing, and know better, having traveled over 3 Million miles all over the world, never ever go to a shop a tour guide takes you to. They receive kickbacks and you will be significantly overpaying. We were taken to a very touristy Herbalist. We enjoyed the presentation of different spices and for both cooking and medicinal uses but were significantly overcharged. I knew better and should have walked away instead of buying. That set the tone for the rest of the tour. I had asked to go to a souk for locals but wasn’t taken to one. So you’ll likely have a great experience if you tell Ismail to not quiz you, and limit the overviews to summary information, and show local souls but do not introduce me to any store owners.
