Our journey commences from the well-known Jemaa el-Fnaa square, the pulsating center of Marrakech’s ancient city. Declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this vivacious square brims with a colourful assortment of street entertainers, local food stalls, and marketplaces. We’ll experience the engaging theatre of narrators, snake enchanters, gymnasts, and musicians, all attempting to captivate the throngs of people converging here daily. Additionally, we’ll meander through the neighboring souks, a labyrinth of tight passageways peppered with shops trading in items ranging from spices and cloths to jewels and pottery.
From Jemaa el-Fnaa, we’ll set course to the renowned Koutoubia Mosque, a significant landmark of Marrakeck’s cityscape. Constructed in the 12th century, the Koutoubia Mosque stands as a tribute to Islamic architectural brilliance, distinguished primarily by its sky-kissing minaret, rising above 70 meters. We’ll appreciate its detailed geometric designs, thereafter venturing within to witness the awe-inspiring prayer hall and the decorative mihrab.
