A Captivating Journey Through History at Madrasa Ibn Youssef - Visiting the Madrasa Ibn Youssef in Marrakech was an unforgettable experience that truly transported me back in time. This stunning Islamic school, built in the 14th century, is a marvel of architecture and artistry. As I entered, I was immediately struck by the intricate tile work and beautifully carved wood details that adorn the walls and ceilings. The craftsmanship is absolutely breathtaking and reflects the rich cultural heritage of Morocco. Each courtyard and prayer hall is filled with an atmosphere of peace and reverence. The layout of the madrasa is fascinating, with its serene courtyards providing a perfect place to reflect and soak in the beauty around me. The historical significance of the site, once a center of learning for students from across the region, adds to its allure. The knowledgeable staff and informative plaques helped enhance my understanding of the madrasa’s role in Islamic education. I appreciated the respect for the space, allowing visitors to explore while maintaining its sacred atmosphere. Overall, Madrasa Ibn Youssef is a must-visit for anyone in Marrakech. It beautifully encapsulates the artistic and intellectual spirit of the era, making it a highlight of my trip. Don’t miss the chance to explore this gem

Madrassa de Ben youssef - I hadn't visited any before and loved knowing this one, beautiful and full of art, prayers on its walls, coffered ceilings, and passing from the gloom of the cells to the dazzling light of the courtyards.

Elegance and beauty of Moroccan art - After walking the many streets of the nearby Point of Sale, we arrived at the end of the day at the Ben Youssef Madrasa. Since closing time was near we could appreciate the spaces of the structure with very few visitors present. Fantastic central courtyard recently restored: impressive details of marble and wood works. Interesting are the various rooms in which students could attend but unfortunately sparse and devoid of any even minimal furniture that recalled their use. To see the film that illustrates the important restoration that has been able to restore the current beauty of the place.
