This is Marrakesh - Wow what a market. I came to Morocco to find a man's bag. I knew what I was looking for having waded my way threw the nice copies of YSL, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. I even ended up with one made of sheep's leather in a cool colour. This market goes on forever. I think 99.9% of babouches can be found here. It gets noisy. Wonderful cafés with panoramic views. If you like people watching with your latte..wow this is something a bit different. I tried a mixed fruit juice from stall 49. It was great. The Vendor was fun, smiling away, he even said the Mrs could come up and have her photo taken from behind the stall. Nice one. It's chaotic, energy draining but you haven't seen Marrakesh if you have not been here.

Great shopping experience in Marrakesh - I really enjoyed wandering around the back part of the Medina where most people don't get to go. I also really enjoyed meeting the spice master who custom created some spice blends for me so that I could make my own tagines at home

Beautiful Vibrant Scum City - I highly recommend having a tour guide because we went alone and got ripped off, lol! The experience was amazing even though we knew that the prices they were giving us were not the same for Locals. We got a tour guide at the market - big mistake, lol! He was in on the deal, and he took us to his mates shops where he was getting a cut! Apart from that, we absolutely enjoyed walking through the different Souks! The smells, colours, and shops were all enchanting both day and night! We had a great time either way!

Better the devil you know than the devil you don't - There are lots of cafes, restaurants, stalls, shops, etc in this area. Lots of locals go there and some of the tourists go and visit too so you will come across plenty of strangers who try to lure you into something just to make a quick buck. As an example, I saw some snakes lying on the floor so I tried to take a photo before I was quickly holding one around my neck and participating in photos and videos (on my phone) that I never even asked for, and then hassled until I handed some money over. On another occasion I went to go and buy some moroccan clothes from one of the shops and with enough haggling I managed to get a decent price (according to locals) for my purchase; I was quoted 8000 Dirhams but after a while we agreed at just under 3000 Dirhams - So in short, in this area keep your wits about you and don't participate in anything without agreeing a price first (somewhere around a third of the initial asking price).
