Morocco - On the first day of the journey from Marrakech to Merzouga, travelers will embark on a scenic adventure through Morocco’s diverse landscapes. After departing from Marrakech, they will traverse the breathtaking Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains, where the winding road offers stunning views of rugged terrain and traditional Berber villages. As they descend from the mountains, they will arrive at Aït Benhaddou, an ancient ksar renowned for its mud-brick architecture and historical significance. Here, a local guide will provide insights into the ksar’s rich history and its role as a filming location for several notable movies, including “Lawrence of Arabia.”

After exploring Aït Benhaddou, the journey continues towards the overnight destination, which will be either Dades or Tinghir. Both locations offer unique experiences: Dades is famous for its dramatic gorges and striking landscapes, while Tinghir is known for its charming oasis and nearby Todra Gorge.

Tinghir - The travel time to the overnight stay today will be 12 hours, including stops for lunch, rest, and photos.

Tinghir - Tinejdad - Arfoud - Merzouga

Merzouga Desert - On the second day of the journey from Marrakech to the desert, travelers will begin by departing from Tinghir after their overnight stay. They will meet a local guide to explore the old section and Jewish area of the town and visit a local women’s cooperative to learn about the traditional handcrafting of rugs. Then, they will travel to the stunning Todra Gorge, passing through lush oases. In Tinjdad, they will enjoy lunch and have the option to relax by the pool. Following this, they will stop at Melaab to visit a Berber family shop, where they can purchase scarves for the camel ride. After arriving in Merzouga, they will meet their caravan and embark on a camel ride to the desert camp. Once at the camp, they can enjoy a shower, possibly try sandboarding, and prepare for a night under the stars. After dinner, the evening will be filled with dancing around the fire.

Merzouga - Tinjdad - Kelaa Mgouna - Marrakech

Ouarzazate - On the final day of the trip, travelers will start with an early breakfast before embarking on either a camel ride or, optionally, a quad bike excursion to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the desert. After the sunrise experience, they will reunite with their bus for the journey back to Marrakech. This will be the longest day of the trip, with planned stops along the way for meals and rest to ensure a comfortable return.
