Start the day early and drive through the Atlas Mountains’ foothills to Imlil, where the support team awaits to begin the trek. Gradually climb the Toubkal Valley, passing through Berber farming villages, and pause for lunch along the trail. In the afternoon, reach the refuge, settle in, meet fellow hikers, and enjoy a well-deserved dinner prepared by the support team. Rest well in preparation for tomorrow’s summit attempt!
Day 2: Early rise to summit Mt Toubkal, then return to Marrakech.
Hiking 10hrs · 17km · 967m ascent · 2530m descent
Begin the final ascent while it’s still dark. Reach the ridge and complete the climb to the summit (4167m) in time to witness the sunrise. Rest before starting the long descent back to Imlil. Bid farewell to the Atlas Mountains and drive back to Marrakech, arriving at the riad in the early evening. Find a restaurant to enjoy couscous or a delicious tajine before retiring for the night.
