Highlights
  • Koutoubia Mosque - The highlight of the Koutoubia mosque, which non-Muslims may not enter, is the beautiful minaret. Rising almost 70m, it dominates the Djemaa el Fna square and can be seen from much of the city.

The design of the Koutoubia minaret was highly influential on later towers (notably the Hassan Tower in Rabat and the beautiful La Giralda in Seville) and on Moroccan architecture in general. The wide band of ceramic tiles at the top, the pointed battlements (merlons), the alternate patterning on each side, and various other decorative motifs can all be seen on various buildings across the country.

The minaret is topped with copper balls of decreasing size, a traditional design in Morocco. There are usually only three orbs; legend has it the fourth was a gift from the wife of Saadian ruler Yacoub el Mansour, as penance for breaking her fast for three hours during Ramadan.

Lovely luxury tour - Everything was taken off. All the food was great whatever we requested. We felt safe during the whole trip despite not knowing the language. We were treated like kings and queens. Highly recommended

Best of Morocco - I went to Morocco 2 years ago with my family in April. I've been to many countries around the world and Morocco is one of my favorite country. I like Sahara desert so much and I really enjoyed the camel riding and the view was so good and very impressive. Morocco has an unique and interesting culture. The city that I also really like is Fez. It made me see the culture and the way that people in Morocco are living. Moreover, the thing that I really impress is food. I like the traditional dish which is Tajine. It's the traditional food that is made of chicken with spices. It has a unique taste and have very good taste. In the future, I will certainly go back to travel in Morocco again and hope that people that want good experiences while travelling like me will go there as well.
