- Essaouira Fishing Port - The fishing port in Essaouira is one of the city’s most vibrant and picturesque areas. Known locally as “Port d’Essaouira,” it’s a bustling hub where you can see traditional wooden fishing boats, known as “blue boats” due to their distinctive color, docked and being unloaded. The port is an integral part of the local economy and culture, and it’s fascinating to watch the daily activities, from fishermen bringing in their catch to the busy fish market.
The area around the port is lined with seafood restaurants that serve freshly caught fish and shellfish. It’s a great place to sample local specialties such as grilled sardines or seafood tagine while enjoying views of the ocean and the historic ramparts of Essaouira. in the afternoon we get to head the road back to marrakech .
