Souks and Medina area, family first timers - For first timers visiting the souks/medina area of Marrakesh I would highly recommend this tour. Abdel our tour guide was first class. His knowledge of the area and relationship with the people made us feel part of the community. Whist there, Abdel showed us where and how the community live and work and he was always happy to answer any of our questions. At the souks, not once did we feel any pressure to buy any items. Some of the shop keepers are keen to sell, it’s their life, it’s how they make money. But if you’re not interested, we found that by saying a simple ‘no thank you’ it was always respected and everyone was still very friendly and polite.

Fascinating - Our guide gave us a great understanding of the marketplace and taught us how to haggle. Was very fascinating.

Great experience - We went with Mo and did not regret it. We would have been lost for sure. The experience in itself was great and it was fascinating to see how things are made on the spot and the skill and craft of the old days. Mo was very patient, informative and respectful. Definately recommend this tour and Mo as a guide!

Amazing - What an amazing tour. Must do when you arrive here so you get to know the place. So many little alleyways full of shops. Guide helped us when buying stuff to make sure we didn't get charged to much.

Absolutely Exceptional - I booked this tour as on a we had visited the souks on a previous holiday and found it quite intimidating and hoped we could improve on our last visit.
This tour surpassed our expectations in every way.
Mohamed was the most friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, who not only put us at ease but gave us nothing short of an exceptional cultural experience.
We learned about the King, historical Moroccan influences and it’s diverse culture that can be found across the country amongst others things.
We visited a jewellers, herboriste, modern Moroccan clothes designer, traditional rug maker, brass metal shop, silk scarf maker, souvenir shop and had an amazing traditional Moroccan meal on a rooftop terrace.
Mohamed spoke to the sellers on our behalf taking the pressure out of haggling during the tour which was invaluable.
We spent time on the rooftop talking about Moroccan culture and swapping stories.
We simply could not have asked for more and can’t thank you enough for making our visit to Marrakech extremely special and opening our eyes to what an interesting place it is with so much to offer.
Thanks you again Mohamed

Highly recommended! - A fantastic way to experience the very best of the souks and the parts of Marrakech you’d never find on your own. Mohammed was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating, helping us find the things we particularly wanted to see as well as so much more too. The colours, the smells, the sounds and the tastes - this tour really did have it all!

Excellent day - Mohamed arrived on time for our Souk private tour. He took time to show us the most interesting vendors and took us to complete our shopping list. After shopping, he walked us to a nice restaurant to enjoy the local delicacy. Highly recommend!

Souks amazing - Met our tour guide Mohammed, who is just amazing, showed us deep into the souks, he was really knowledgeable, about the history which is really important to us, we had some great food which he recommended, which tasted amazing, he took us to the shops which we were interested in, at no time did we feel pressured to buy anything, it was great to see how things were made, and the crafman ship was very good, don't think we would have seen as much as we did if it wasn't for Mohmmad taking us through, for which we are really greatful to him, anyone who wants to go to the souks, we can't recommended mohammad enough!! Fantastic 😃

A must do for all tourists! - Can't give our guide Muhammad enough thanks!
The tour was brilliant and I would recommend anyone who wants to go to the souks books this tour. Muhammad knows all things local and knows the best places to go. He doesn't take you to the resellers but the people who love their trade and are happy for you to browse and show you how their items are made.
We told Muhammad what we wanted to buy and he showed us to stores within our budget. He will help you get the best price and not be scammed as he says 'he's on your side!'
Muhammad has a good relationship with sellers which allows him to give the tour without being hassled to buy.
He provided us with water throughout the tour and even a mesemen which I recommend you try! Delicious!
Muhammad's knowledge is excellent as is his English, he does not clock watch or rush you to move along. A must do for all tourists.

Souk and Ye Shall Find... Disappointment - Booked the pricey private tour option of Marrakech's souks. Our guide, Abdel, was a nice elderly man who knew the Medina well. He showed us around the textiles, leather, metals, and herbalist areas. Bit hard to understand him at times, though.
Good points:
- No pressure to buy
- Guide was great with our teenage boys
- Learned about different souk areas
Not so good:
- Felt like some stops (leather, textile, herbalist shops) had commercial ties
- Tour ended earlier than the promised 3 hours
- Bought some stuff we regretted later (scarves, tea, argan oil)
Managed to bargain down some scarves to a third of the asking price, so that was a win. Tipped Abdel well because he was friendly, but overall, the tour was just okay.
Bottom line: The experience was fine, but not worth the high price tag. If you're considering it, maybe look for cheaper options or try to negotiate a better deal. You'll probably see the same stuff without the sales pitches.
