MARRAKECH - AIT BEN HADDOU

Marrakech - Our journey starts by crossing the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass, the highest road pass in North Africa, standing at 2,260 km high. The Atlas is a magnificent mountain range offering stunning landscapes dotted with small Berber villages. We will make as many stops as you wish to admire and photograph them.

Next, we will reach the legendary fortified city, or Ksar, of Ait Ben Haddou. It holds World Heritage Site status as declared by UNESCO. Its ornamented adobe houses are enclosed within a strong wall reinforced by defense turrets. This spectacular kasbah, built on a hill, rises above the desert landscape of the Anti Atlas. It is undoubtedly one of the most iconic places in Morocco. It is the largest Kasbah in Morocco, constructed by T-hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains in the early 20th century, and it used to be one of his stops during his long journey from the Sahara to Marrakech. Recently, it has been a filming location for Game of Thrones and several movies.

IRIKI DESERT (DUNES CHEGAGA)

Erg Chebbi - We will arrive at the Iriki desert and enjoy the beauty of the Chegaga dunes. Although they are not as spectacular as those of Merzouga, they are ideal for those with less time but still want to experience the desert. We will have a welcome mint tea and spend the remaining afternoon enjoying the desert sunset. Arriving at the camp with a dromedary ride is an option we recommend.

CHEGAGA DESERT - MHAMID - ZAGORA - OUARZAZATE

Ouarzazate - From Chegaga, we will head to Mhamid, a town located 100 kilometers south of Zagora. It was an ancient caravan starting point between Morocco and Africa. Then we will complete the tour towards Zagora, crossing several oases.

The new city of Zagora dates back to the French protectorate era, as it was one of its administrative centers. However, the oasis has been inhabited for a long time, with the Saadi expedition to Timbuktu dating back to 1591. The famous sign “Timbuktu 52 days” is a reminder of this history. We will leave the desert sand and cross the Draa Valley, the third-largest oasis in the country.

We will continue to Ouarzazate, passing by the large cinema studios where scenes from renowned movies such as “The Mummy,” “Gladiator,” and many others, including episodes of the “Game of Thrones” series, have been filmed. The desert, oases, kasbahs, and snowy Atlas mountains provide an unbeatable setting for movie shoots.

OUARZAZATE - MARRAKECH

Marrakech - On the return day, we will enjoy the landscapes of the Atlas and cross the Tizi n’Tichka on our way back to Marrakech. We will return to Marrakech at the agreed place and time, marking the end of our services.
