In Berber, Morocco’s native language, Ouzoud translates to ‘olive,’ which explains the abundance of olive trees blanketing the plateau above the cascades. Visitors can stroll around the waterfalls, take a traditional boat across the river, or engage a local guide for a 2-hour hike to explore the area, including the ancient mills still in operation. You’ll also enjoy sightings of monkey troops, have leisure time to ascend to the waterfall’s source, or traverse the river using the indigenous wooden boats.
