Kitesurfing, a relatively recent sporting development, involves gliding across a modified surfboard while clutching a strategically designed kite that serves as your mode of momentum. Typically associated with exotic beachfronts like those in Hawaii, Brazil, or South Africa, the most premier European location for kitesurfing is surprisingly nestled in Trapani province, known as Stagnone. This Marsala lagoon, part of the Stagnone nature reserve, is comprised of Mozia, Isola Grande or Lunga, Schola, and Santa Maria islands. It’s fame extends to its mineral-rich windmills, majestic herons, and breath-taking sunrises. With an average water depth of 30/40 cm, it’s safe to return to the shore on foot even from hundreds of meters away. Plus, the absence of waves or currents even amidst robust winds makes it an ideal spot. The blend of shallow, stable waters and an abundance of blustery days make this lagoon a top choice for kitesurfing enthusiasts all across Europe.
