We were on a cruise and... - We were on a cruise and did this tour. Kevin was our tour guide. He was very nice. There were 11 of us on the tour. I was traveling with 2 teens. There were 4 couples from New Zealand. Kevin took us to the Notre Dame Basilica, but we didn't see anything else in Marseille. We could not go inside the church because there was mass. We went back to the bike garage. He arranged for us to have lunch across the street. The food was meh and no one spoke any English at the restaurant so a lot of hand gestures and pointing. The climb up the Calanques was great. The couples were with were super annoying and demanding. The whole time they wanted to go for a "swim". This is a bike tour, not a beach visit. Kevin was too accommodating of their many requests. They wanted to swim after lunch across the street from the bike garage. It was not a very nice beach and I pushed back. I paid for a bike tour, not a day at the beach. They insisted on going for a swim at the Calanques. If you can, skip that part. You have to go all the way down and then do the climb back up for a beach that was not nice and full of seaweed. Take your photos at the top and move on. The beach was not worth it and we only had 15 minutes to spend at the beach. Not worth it. The Calanques are beautiful. I recommend this tour. Skip the beach.
