Great excursion - Great small group tour. Our guide Pepe was excellent. Weather was rough- high winds - but not their fault.

Wonderful Port excursion from Marseille - A very nice, private tour to a beautiful organic winery, and then the historic city of Avignon. The tasting was great and the wine making process and terrior was explained in great detail by the sommelier. After that, Guide Laurent took us to Avignon, where he knew some great photo ops. We then had free time to explore the beautiful city, and had an authentic French meal. He returned us to our cruise ship in Marseille, very satisfied with our excursion. It was nice to see the ships massive, slow moving excursions, and not be part of that!

Delightful experience! - The driver Jocelyn was fabulous! He was very fun, an excellent communicator, accommodating, knowledgeable. Avignon was delightful and the wine tasting at Domaine Le Prieure Des Papes was very good! Unfortunately, one of the other guests was clearly sick. She coughed constantly - she should have cancelled. It was extremely inconsiderate of her to subject the other 4 people in the van to her illness. It made the drive very uncomfortable for me.

Great, informative tour! No worries! - We had a great time with Sebastien who was very knowledgeable on the area and history. He was a great driver and provided commentary and answered questions during the 1.5 hour drive. In Avignon he provided great insights on the possibilities and the amount of time each would take. We loved this tour and was a highlight of our vacation! Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Marseille and interested in both wine and medieval history.

Terrific guide and Popes Palace was so neat to see - Excellent private tour guide who drove us and then we independently viewed the cathedral on our own. She got the tickets so there was no waiting. Also had spare time for lunch, and little shopping. Also we didn’t do wine tour since we don’t drink and we had a 6yr old. So instead she did take us for a driving tour of Marseille which was perfect. Plus she took us to a grocery store so we could get a few things before getting back on our cruise ship! Awesome!

More winery less Avignon. - Would be 5 stars if it stopped at more than just one winery for a tasting. There is enough time for 2-3 winery and less time having to roam around Avignon.

Good driver, not a guide - Laurent was very polite and quiet and was a good driver that took us to all the spots in a timely fashion. He was not educational but answered questions when directed to him. He was not flexible in terms of letting us use the leftover time to see marseille. He did not have water for us in the van. It would be nice if he turned on the AC in the the van a few minutes before we entered it. He was not knowledgeable about Avignon history or the French papacy which is the reason why we took the Excursion. The ruin of chateauneuf du pape castle had very little history description all in french and little description by loren. Winery he chose to sample chateauneuf du pape was small and did not offer a tour. Most of the picture explanations were in French so we learned very little. The tasting was on the level of a wine store trying sell their inventory. Our time at Avignon was ours to self tour and the lunch of rabbit loaf, foie grass, was average, and Loren did not give us suggestions for restaurants.

Not enough time in Chateauneuf du Pape - Unfortunately we started the tour more than one hour late, however, our experience at the one winery in Chateauneuf du Pape was excellent! It would have been a better tour if there was at least one additional winery visit in the region. The time in Avignon could have been shorter.

Bad time! - Terrible experience, turned out we were the only people on this tour, so we’re alone with the guide, Laurent. He barely spoke to us the entire trip, but the worst part was he had a terrible head cold, sneezed, sniffled and blew his nose the entire time we were with him. Winery tour was first, mediocre at best. He then drove us to Avignon where he left us for 3 hours. We were ready to leave after 1 1/2 hours but couldn’t contact him to pick us up. I gave this 2 stars out of generosity, but really, don’t waste your time on this one!
