Triple Treat in Falmouth: A Family Adventure to Remember
When I heard about the Triple Treat excursion in Falmouth, I knew it was a must-do for our family. With rafting, horseback riding, and a magical night at the Luminous Lagoon, it promised an unforgettable adventure.
A Rafting Adventure on the Martha Brae
Our day began with the gentle sway of the bamboo raft as we glided down the Martha Brae River. The lush greenery enveloped us, creating a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our guide, Laverne, was a fountain of knowledge, sharing tales of the river’s history and the legendary “Martha Brae.” My kids were captivated, their eyes wide with wonder as they listened to the stories. The river was calm, and the water was inviting, so we couldn’t resist a quick dip. It was the perfect start to our adventure, and I could already feel the stress melting away.
Horseback Riding and a Taste of Jamaica
Next, we headed to Braco Stables for a horseback ride that took us through the picturesque countryside. The kids were thrilled to ride their own horses, and I was equally excited to join them. The highlight was undoubtedly riding into the Caribbean surf, the cool water splashing around us as our horses trotted along the shore. It was a moment of pure joy and freedom, and I couldn’t help but laugh as the kids squealed with delight.
After our ride, Laverne surprised us with a visit to Pepper’s Jerk Center. The aroma of jerk chicken and pork filled the air, and we couldn’t resist trying a little bit of everything. The flavors were bold and spicy, a true taste of Jamaica that left us craving more. Laverne’s hospitality was unmatched, and she even treated us to some local sugar cane and mangoes, which the kids devoured with glee.
A Magical Night at the Luminous Lagoon
As the sun set, we made our way to the Luminous Lagoon, a natural wonder that promised to be the highlight of our day. The water glowed with an ethereal blue light, a phenomenon caused by tiny organisms called dinoflagellates. We boarded a small boat, and as we glided across the lagoon, the water shimmered beneath us. The kids were mesmerized, and I was equally enchanted by the magical display.
Laverne, ever the gracious host, provided us with rum punch as we took in the beauty of the lagoon. She even encouraged us to take a dip, and the kids were thrilled to swim in the glowing water. It was a surreal experience, one that we will cherish forever. As we headed back to our hotel, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the incredible day we had shared as a family. The Triple Treat was truly a blessing, offering us unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of Jamaica.
