Nice experience for a solo traveller - I enjoyed the trip. It was really time effective, as we did everything planned: Dambulla, Sigiriya and Minneriya National Park. Even managed to do some extra, in particular a small herbal garden on the way. And a nice lunch near Sigiriya, of course. Also I travelled alone, so it was sort of a personal guided tour, in a nice air conditioned car. The driver, Janaka, was a really pleasant person, and shared a lot of information about Sri Lanka, its history and culture on the way. I met many different guides in the past, but not all of them were so attentive to the clients and did their job with such dedication. In short, everything was as promised at the tour webpage, and I am really satisfied:)

Recommended for solo female travelers - It was an amazing trip. Driver Susantha was very kind and we were welcomed with hospitality everywhere we went. We even stop to try Durians. I also recommend this tour to solo female travelers like me.

A full day from Candy - We spent an entire day exploring the spice gardens, the cave temples of Dambulla, the Lion Rocks of Sigiriya and safaris. It is a very resonable tour and I would recommend it. The lunch curry was also delicious. Drinks are not included. It's a good idea to have a safari in a different Jeep for an additional Rs. 20,000. You'll also need to pay $35 for admission to Lion Rock in Siguria and tip your Guide. It took 12 hours from Kandy and back, and thank you for a very fulfilling day.

A long day of amazing experiences. - This was an amazing trip! We chose to only see Sigiriya rock and the elephants on the safari. Both were excellent experiences with friends, and well worth the money and knowledge shared by our guides. Our driver, Lahiru, was also very helpful and kind (and an excellent, safe driver). Make sure to bring lots of Sri Lankan rupees cash. This nearly caught us out when paying for the safari.

Traveling around Sri Lanka by car with comfort and peace of mind - Dear Mahaweli Tours, I would like to report my high satisfaction with your services, which I have used 3 separate times with my family during my stay in Sri Lanka in the past week. Your 3 drivers have all been reliable, safe, polite, helpful, and flexible to our few requests made during each trip. Especially Lahiru, our driver to Sigiriya, etc, today, has been most friendly and went the extra mile to make our interesting excursion feel like "being part of the family." This was our first trip to Sri Lanka, and I was a bit apprehensive about the travel portions by car, where trains aren't available. Our experience with Mahaweli Tours have completely changed my opinion. I can recommend your company without hesitation. Good job!

An exceptional experience! Well worth the time and the effort. - Dambulla cave temple, Ranweli spice garden, Pidurangala rock, and Sigiriya rock fortress day tour in a private car was an exceptional experience! I had an excellent time climbing, exploring & appreciating the immense views, learning about culture & history, and seeing the sunset from on top of Sigiriya rock. Janaka is an experienced and very knowledgeable driver / guide with an immense amount of patience and the desire to make sure I was happy with the itinerary. The included Sri Lankan rice and curries lunch was substantial and very tasty. Big thanks to Mahaweli Tours & Holidays, Geesara for coordinating things and Janaka. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this operator and this tour.

Wonderful tour! - What a fantastic experience!!! I was alone on this trip but it wasn't my first time in Sri Lanka. I chose this tour because it has excellent value for money. We went to the spice garden in Matale, to the Temple Cave of Dambulla, the wonderful fortress of Sigirya and finally we did a safari in the afternoon where you can admire the elephants inside one of the national parks. Everything was taken care of down to the smallest detail, my guide Janaka was a very knowledgeable and helpful person. During the tour he explained to us very well what we were going to see, from a historical or religious point of view. For lunch (included in the price) we went to a small restaurant along the road: a fantastic experience, the food was exquisite and adapted to the palate of non-Sri Lankans (spicy but just right!). I was really satisfied with this tour and I highly recommend it!! Thank you Janaka for everything🙏🏽

Great day out from Kandy good solid climb up Lion Rock and Dambulla caves. - Over Amilia was a good driver and guide for Dambulla caves. We could have started earlier if we want but we were not aware of this. We were pick up at 7.30 am from Kandy and the Traffic was serious. Our guide at Sigirya Rock was excellent with a depth of knowlegde on the history and the nature around Lion Rock. For us these two tours and lunch was enough. Left at 7.30 arrived back in Kandy about 4pm.

Hire your own taxi - Great driver but beware the wording. Booked a trip to Lion Rock (knew we had to pay entrance fee) but as said lunch, and elephant safari inc. not the case so skipped safari, had lunch which driver paid (paid him back though) then back to hotel. It would have been cheaper to get a taxi as this trip was a taxi only excursion.
