Shrines , Temples and to the natural surroundings outside the city . - This is a really nice way to see you way around Matsumoto. The guide is knowledgeable about the area and history. Wished we could have had a few food or snack or drink stops . It was mainly riding .

Wonderful experience in the countryside with stunning views! - What a wonderful afternoon we had, together with our guide Kai (at least we think that’s his name). The guide was punctually on time at the agreed meeting point, bike helmets in hand. We went to see shrines, the amazing countryside with marvellous views on the snowcapped mountains of the Japanese alps, and biked through rice fields, which -we were lucky- were being planted at this very moment. Cool experience. Kai -the guide- was very well informed and we were able to learn a lot about various topics, such as Shintoism, Buddhism, agriculture, earthquakes, samurai in the Edo period and so on… Very informative! We would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who has a morning or afternoon available in Matsumoto…! The bike ride itself was very easy to do, so no need to be in ‘special physical form’ or something - haha… Thanks a lot mr. Kai, and who knows, maybe we will meet again! Best regards, Wim from Belgium

Try without hesitation - We did this activity with Sylvain. We didn't see past 4 hours. We saw some great places in and around Matsumoto and we were able to chat with Sylvain on a lot of topics related to Japan

Highly recommend! - We spent very nice and active time during the bike tour in Matsumoto, great opportunity to see the main points of town (without entering). We enjoyed the most the outer-town part with rice and buckwheat fields, beautiful landscapes, and charming casual japanese streets. Thanks to electric bike the journey is really easy and do not require more than standard physical condition. Our Guide answered a lot of our questions, thank you once again! Arigato gozaimasu!

Loved this ebike tour - This was one of the highlights of my two weeks in Japan. Temples and sites in Tokyo and Tokyo were amazing but this was a peek into Japanese everyday life along the small streets of Matsumoto. Sylvaine was thoughtful and knowledgeable and shared small details that made me want to live here! Highly recommended for those who are comfortable on a bicycle.

Outstanding! - Let me just start with “Kevin was an outstanding tour guide!” He was waiting for me at our appointed meeting place with bike in hand although I was early! He proceeded to check my gear (bike and helmet) and then described the proposed circuit we would be attempting to confirm that I knew what I was getting into before we set off on our 6-hr excursion - even inquiring about medical issues to ensure my safety. After we started, Kevin would let me know well in advance which direction we were headed and made certain he did not get too far ahead so I didn’t lose him traveling through busy streets and crowds of people. This continued throughout the entirety of the ride even after leaving the city and finding us alone riding along quiet country lanes. While on the ride, Kevin made sure I was comfortable with the pace and would stop and provide informational/historical vignettes about the areas we were visiting often which provided knowledge as well as upon occasion, a much needed break as we rode up some very steep trails - I truly appreciated his ability to read his audience which made the ride so much more enjoyable! Because it was just the two of us, we made some pretty good time and were therefore able to stop and visit a few more places than originally scheduled and had a little more time to linger over a delicious lunch at a local soba shop and chat with the ladies who owned it. I would definitely recommend eTours de Matsumoto for anyone looking to get a more personalized tour of the city - Kevin’s love, appreciation, and knowledge of his adopted home was so much more insightful than the standard litany of most guided tours. And finally, don’t let the amount of time assigned to each tour be a deterrent; the bikes are motorized so if you need a break from pedaling you can do so - you won’t be disappointed!
