We limit this tour to a maximum of 12 guests, so you have more opportunities to view the Humpback whales, and other sea life, in the most comfort possible. Our vessels are USCG rated to carry 26 guests, but this tour is all about you and your experience and is limited to 12 guests.

This tour is approximately a one hour and forty-five minute Whale Watch Adventure.

Children must be at least four (4) years or older. All passengers must have a paid reservation.

Ali’i Exclusive Whale Viewing Tour
Experience the imperial touch on our Ali’i Exclusive Whale Viewing Tour! This tour is restricted to a maximum of 11 spectators, providing you with increased chances of observing Humpback whales and other marine creatures with utmost comfort. Although our vessels are authorized by the USCG to accommodate 26 guests, this tour focuses solely on enhancing your experience and is limited to 11 spectators.

The Ali’i Exclusive Whale Viewing Tour is available only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Children need to be at least four years old to participate.

USCG requires ALL passengers must be on passenger manifest, You must purchase a seat for all children. Children must be at least four (4) years old

Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled departure. Crew members in bright Red, White or Blue shirts will check you in. Free parking along Front St. And then walk towards boat ramp facility.

Best whale watch ever! - Watching two mamas and two babies playing together for 30 minutes +. The guide said in over 8 years and thousands of whale watch trips he had never seen that before. We are having the best luck seeing the unusual. Thanks.

Worth every penny! Amazing! - The captain and crew were very knowledgeable and knew all the best spots. We had up close and personal encounters with some awesome whales! Small boat so not too many on board! Once in a lifetime experience!

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! - We had such an amazing time whale watching with Blue Water Maui. Great boat and a friendly, informative, and engaging crew. Breaching whales, mothers and calves, trumpeting, and whale songs actually heard through the hull of the boat were all part of the experience. This was our second time using Blue Water Maui and we will use them again in the future! It was also good to see a tour operating again out of Lahaina on the long road to recovery. We would highly recommend to anybody looking for a magical day on the water!

Amazing tour! - Excellent experience. Great job navigating the rough waters so we didn’t get soaked on the day we went out and finding lots of whales that were fortunately very active that morning! Knowledgable and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent Tour! - We had the best time on the Ali'i Whale Tour! The weather was pristine, and Brian our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. We chose a more expensive tour to get a more private visit with the whales, and even though we had a boat engine malfunction, the captain was still able to take us out a short way, and watch a juvenile whale frolic for awhile. It was a great experience. Because the trip was shorter than expected, the company refunded us part of our payment which was very kind and considerate. I highly recommend this tour if you are going to Maui!

The best in the biz!! - I always choose Blue Water in Lahaina when I want to see some North Pacific Humpback whales in the winter. They always have the best crew who are so knowledgeable and funny and kind. Brian and Justin were our crew yesterday and we loved hanging out with them. Brian may have the best whale-spotting-eyes on Maui and Justin always postioned the boat in a way for the best viewing. They were almost predictive of where the whales would breach and surface! It's always an adventure with Bluw Water and I really appreciate how they keep their guest number small so you have plenty of space on the boat to move around and get a front row seat for the action! It is WELL worth the little extra cost to experience "the coolest thing I have ever seen in my entire life." That's a direct quote from one of the other passengers who was on the boat with us yesterday. We will always choose Blue Water over any other raft out here on Maui. Mahalo for the amazing memories!

Awesome Whale Watching!, - Love this experience! Brian and Justin were fantastic. We saw soooo many whales including babies. Because it’s smaller it was easier to ask our questions and strike up conversations. Highly recommend Maui in late January and don’t miss out on going out with these folks to see the humpbacks!

Memorable - How friendly and accommodating everyone was on the boat crew. Your office, not so much. We saw lots of whales, the boat was comfortable, and the crew went above and beyond to give you a great experience.

Not easy to find them - There were no directions where the boat was neither they had any info about our booking….. commentary was not that great …. Staff seemed tired after their earlier trip and were busy talking to each other barely did an hour and half trip when we paid for 1.45 ….. just before end of trip the realized that they didn’t put the audio for whales noises inside ocean for us so they gave us 5 minutes to hear it right before end of trip!
