Each year, from December through March, hundreds of migrating humpback whales journey from chilly Alaska to the warm waters of Maui to breed and give birth. Our guests can get a close-up view of the majestic marine mammals on this tour. These whales play, breach, and interact in their natural environment, and our crew provides insights into their behavior and biology. Hear their soulful songs through our underwater hydrophones while enjoying the perfect view of West Maui’s mountains, Molokai, and Lanai, while you lounge on our decks or main floor.
Infants and kids ages 0-5 come for free parents must call the office to confirm.

Check-in is 30 minutes before your activity start time. Google Maps 233 Maalaea Road, places you in front of the Coast Guard building. We are at the north dock to the left of the Coast Guard station in front of the condo building and gravel parking lot. Look for our Signs "Makena Coast Charters".

Rough seas, great experience - The captain and his crew were awesome! We went snorkeling since there weren’t too many whales left at this time of the year. We had a great time!

Great experience, friendly and helpful crew members - We had a very good experience. The crew members were very friendly and helpful. We did see a few whales although it was towards the end of the whale watching season. During the snorkeling session, the crew were very patient with me and the kids who had never swam in the open ocean before and they helped the kids relax. Shout out specifically to Kyle and Renee for their help! Overall I would strongly recommend this tour.

Baby Whales jumping out of water!! - Awesome crew, we went at the tail end of the season but still managed to see 2 separate mom whales with their baby..did some great snorkeling and saw some turtle's.....the whole experience was the best...

Great capitan and crew. - The boat is well maintained, they had plenty of drinks and snacks even for over half of the passengers being kids and teenagers. They cautioned us before we went out that most of the whales had started the journey back to Alaska, but said they would do their best to put us in the area where the remaining whales and babies were hanging out. I lost count on how many we saw, from full breeches, tails and blowing. We snorkeled for almost an hour. One passenger lost their phone in the ocean. One of the crew swam down and found it. Unbelievable and true. Definitely a tour to take while in Maui.

Great activity - We saw a lot of whales. It’s really amazing. The crew on the boat are excellent. They are very family friendly and helpful. The customer service is exceptional throughout the booking process. They kept contact with us to ensure we know the schedule and remind us about the items we need to bring for the activity. There are 10 of us in the party. We all have a great time.

Awesome experience! - Awesome experience! Would highly recommend! Saw 5 whales and got super close! Snorkeled and saw 7 turtles and felt like we were in an aquarium! Great crew, and loved being on a boat that wasn’t so crowded vs the large tourist whale watching boats. Definitely check it out if you’re visiting Maui!

A great whale watching trip!! - This was a very fun catamaran trip!! The boat had adequate seating for all and enough covered area if you didn't want to be in the sun. There is a bathroom on board, but I did not use it. We were fortunate to see many whales! The captain and 3 crew members were very attentive to all! There was ample bottled water, soda, chips, meat/cheese tortilla wraps and cookies. The selection of appropriate sized snorkel fins and masks was good and the snorkelers were in the water about 30-45 minutes. Totally recommend this tour!

Recommend while in Maui - One of the most amazing adventures. The staff were so amazing and attentive on this trip. They even snuck in a surprise snorkeling in. The captain made sure that we spotted the whales and allowed to take as many pictures that was needed. This was 10/10 highly recommend.

Great Crew! - Captain, crew, and the boat were pretty awesome!
Parking sucked. Ended up with a broken window in my rental jeep. They also got the car next to me. Watch out!
